Description

The Team Wendy SAR is the first purpose-built search and rescue helmet to provide accessory mounting capabilities while meeting key industrial and mountaineering performance standards. The Team Wendy SAR Backcountry features a polycarbonate shroud that is designed to handle lights and cameras. The helmet also includes a sport-style under the chin retention system with a magnetic buckle for easy one-handed operation and a BOA Fit System to dial in precise fit adjustment while providing single-handed quick release. The Team Wendy SAR comes standard with two vent covers to prevent objects and debris from entering the crown vents of the helmet. Available in Yellow, Lime Green, White, Black, Red and Coast Guard Orange. Available in one size: Fits head circumference 20 7/8" to 24 3/4" (53cm to 63cm), hat size range 6 5/8 to 7 7/8. Measure head circumference as shown in head form image. Meets the requirements of EN12492:2012 (Mountaineering), EN1385:2012 (Whitewater), ACH Blunt Impact (AR/PD10-02, 16Dec'13) and Off-Crown Shock Absorption (BS EN 14052:2012).

This is one of the best rated SAR helmets out there. It has a long list of standards that it meets (or exceeds), it's multifuncional (climbing, rescue, ropes, water, etc.) and its SUPER comfortable. I've worn it during training, for 4-6 hours without any issues. The extra pads let you adjust the vertical fit (plus provide more/less padding, whatever your preference might be). The BOA adjustment system is robust and super easy to use. The one drawback is the lack of attachment options for front-facing headlamps and the fact that the moment you attach a headlamp to it, you basically have to keep the (optional) visor down permanently. Spent 8 hours a day x3 days in this versus fire helmet for road class. My neck thanks me. Being swift water tech as well allows me to use it for all situations.

Okay, the helmet is fine though way overpriced for what you get and should really be priced around $60-80.00. the worst part is. Instead of using industry standardized accessory attachment points, Wendy has modified everything just enough to render standard attachments useless and requiring the purchaser to buy their proprietary fittings. For example. I bought this to use for paramotoring. As such I need to add ear muffs for hearing protection. Rather than use the standard hardhat attachment (which actually has multiple mounting possibilities built in) Wendy created a special side rail that prohibits the standard earmuff from fitting and forces you to buy a $80.00 adapter. Funny how the most expensive earmuffs out there are about $35. And that includes hardware and earmuff but Wendy charges $80 for just a little plastic adapter. I wouldn't recommend the helmet just for that. I hate companies that price gouge and try and control the consumer ... show more

Best helmet I’ve used. Tried DLP and Kong. Nothing compares to this helmet. Fit and construction are top notch. Have used the nvg mount more than I thought for rescue with either go pro for training or light mount for nighttime missions. Wish this helmet used an ARC rail though. Easier to find mounting solutions with ARC as you will be locked down to team Wendy products and when used with peltors you can’t use a rail with them ... show more
