  • Excellent Product
Color: Matte Graphite/Red Size: L (59-62.5 cm)
I love this helmet. Lightweight and great integrated goggles. Nice fit and doesn’t have any real pressure on the face or nose.

  • If you must wear glasses, this helmet is a nice option ...
What to love about this helmet: 1) It has amazing peripheral view compared to normal goggles. Seriously, you look around and just see so much. 2) If you wear eyeglasses, you will like the attached goggle's quick pull, rotate, and close feature. The goggles settle in comfortably around your face and the bridge of your nose. 3) You can change out the lens for different light conditions by purchasing replacement lens. To remove the lens, you press the braille-like dots on both sides to pop it off. 4) The helmet is super comfortable and warm. You can also adjust the fit. 5) The magnetic chin strap is so easy to use. No more struggling. So, what else? For me, this is an awesome helmet because I can now wear my eyeglasses while skiing. But, is it a good helmet for skiing in humid or snowy weather?? It can be if you prepare ahead, otherwise, it might frustrate you. Here’s why. When you wear a facemask or buff covering your mouth and nose, this keeps your breath close to your face, forcing it up and into the lens. On humid days, I’ve discovered that this will easily fog the lens. To get around this problem, I use double-sided body tape on my facemask (NOT talking about the padding around the lens, here). There's no shortage of body tape on Amazon. Before heading out, I take my facemask and lay it flat on a table. I don’t contour it because this will interfere with placing the tape, correctly. Then, I cut a strip of body tape to cover two-thirds of the mask along the metal bridge and secure it in place to the mask. I don’t remove the tape backing, though. With the tape backing still on, I practice conforming the mask to my nose and face in front of a mirror. Then, when I arrive at the ski resort, I remove the tape backing and secure the mask to my nose and face. If done correctly, it reduces the amount of moisture traveling up and into the lens. Note: I try to make sure that the body tape doesn’t creep out from beneath my facemask because it could easily stick to the lens padding and damage it. Anything else? Don’t hit the slopes with damp hair and this helmet. No matter what position the goggle/lens is in (up or down), the moisture evaporating off your head will fog the lens. And, finally, make sure you have a lens fog cloth ... just in case. Feb 6, 2021 Update: Going to the Hardware Store for Some Weather Stripping: I truly love this helmet, but, frankly, it is not an All-Weather Helmet. My partner and I have had the opportunity to ski with two of these helmets in most weather conditions, now. I purchased the medium for me and the small for her. She has stopped wearing hers when it snows. Unfortunately, given the way the helmet is designed, you cannot keep the snow and wind out. And when your lens fills up with snow and frozen fog on the inside, do you really want to have to take your helmet off in the snow and wind to try to clean it out? No! But, that is the only way to deal with it once the snow and fog settles in. See attached picture. I’m not sure if the designers were really thinking about bad weather when they created this helmet, but, before I wear it again in bad weather, I plan to weatherize it with weather stripping from the hardware store. Stay tuned! February 7, 2021 Update: On your perfect blue-sky ski day, this is your perfect helmet. No fog. No issues. Just loving it! ... show more

  • Safest, best view in all kinds od ski conditions
Color: Matte Light Grey Size: L (59-62.5 cm)
I purchased this helmet after speaking with five skiers about their experiences with this same helmet. It proved to be a game changer for me. I wear glasses and they or my goggles have always been a struggle for safety, either from fogging or lack of peripheral vision. I wore this helmet/goggle combination for two months this season: in heavy snow, light snow, sunny days, below zero conditions, forty degrees spring days, winds up to forty miles per hour and everything in between. In fact, I doubled my time on the slopes because the goggles never fogged or limited my vision. Originally, I bought different options of layering for my head warmed. But I stated with a BlackStrap Balaclava and never needed to add or change anything. I stayed warm but never overheated. The only time I got any fogging was waiting on other skiers in the lift line. The vent system is simple and quick to adjust and the fogging left immediately. Best value sports related purchase I have made in years. ... show more

  • Horrible lens mechanism and Amazon failed to ship the right lens 3 times
Color: Matte Black Size: L (59-62.5 cm)
I've tried 3 times to get the helmet with several lenses. For some reason Amazon cannot ship the right lenses. Round 1 I ordered Infrared and Onyx. I received two Ember lenses. Return and round 2 got the Onyx but again Ember shipped instead of Infrared. Tried one more time and again received a lens marked Ember rather than Infrared. I gave up on trying to buy the Infrared. Now when it comes to swapping the lens nothing is mentioned in any manual with the helmet or the replacement lens. No help on Giro's site either. I had to call Giro support and speak to an agent. Nobody at the support line could provide instructions. It took 24 hours but I finally received an email with a PDF of how to swap the lens.A In theory you push the pad on the side of the lens and pull forward. I'm 6' 220lbs... I had to pull VERY hard to get the lens to disengage. Either the $500 helmet or the $125 lens is going to break after a few swaps. The design is horrible. Take a look at an Oakley Mod 7 which has a much simpler and easy release/attach process. ... show more

  • Worth the money
What a great comfortable helmet! I was a little apprehensive about spending almost $500 on a helmet but i love it ! When I received my helmet the visor had a small scratch on it. I contacted Giro and their customer service was very helpful, responded quickly and is sending me out a replacement visor. When i equated the cost of a great helmet and a great pair of goggles it completely justifies the cost and especially the comfort cause i wear glasses and cannot wear contacts when i snowboard! Great product! ... show more

  • Was not good in cold weather
Color: Matte Black Size: M (55.5-59cm)
Bought 2 visor helmets. One for my wife and one for me. So the visor froze on the inside making it very hard to see out of. This happened to both helmets. Sometimes it unfroze but then re-froze. We tried the helmets in 0 degrees with flurries. Wind was not an issue. We did want to love the helmets but did not work for us. Had to go back to helmets and goggles. So I think these helmets would be great in sunny and around 32 degree weather. Maybe spring skiing. Helmets fit well. We felt there was a good seal around our nose, cheeks, and face. Peripheral view was great and the ability to wear glasses under is great but not being able to see in cold weather was a deal breaker for us. Also being very expensive and not working for us we had to return the helmet. ... show more

  • Looks cool!
Color: Matte Black Size: L (59-62.5 cm)
I bought this helmet with the integral visor because they supposedly do not fog up as easily on cloudy, snowy days. That is true, but it's still not the solution I was hoping for. It has probably only decreased my fogging problem by half. Besides that, it's a very well made helmet.
