Pros: Despite being a glow in the dark thread- the color is pure white! No hint of green or yellow. Overall isn't a high gloss thread. Is somewhere between matte thread and standard embroidery thread. Has a nice bring glow when exposed to proper light. The glow has a soft green tint to it. MAJOR Con: My embroidery machine hates this thread. It's the only spool I've ever had this issue with. Every few hundred/thousand stitches it bunches up and frays like the picture attached and jams up the machine. So for a single hat design I expect to have to fix it about 3-4 times. But is it worth the hassle? To me it is because I'm cheap and have the time to spare fixing the knotting issue. But if you want to pump out embroidery I would look elsewhere for your glow in the dark thread. ... show more

Agree that there’s a lot of thread and that it’s easily broken but can’t speak to whether that’s a detriment. I found that it required A LOT of ‘charging’ to get a good glow but glow it did. Mostly leaving the review to share that it wasn’t a good fit for knitting. I added a strand to my yarn and it failed to ‘charge’/glow even though I was knitting with it throughout the day (many hours). It may work if doubled or trebled ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ... show more

I feel I got more than what paid for. This spool is BIG, more that I was expecting. I put a UV light up against the spool, and it glowed quite a bit. I pulled some thread off the spool, and it broke easier that I thought it should. Not super durable, but it will work for my application.

This is machine embroidery thread, not for hand embroidery or cross stitch. It is rather thin but does stitch out well so thickness was not a problem. It is slightly off white, with yellow-gray tinge. When stitched-out and compared with white you can see a difference (see photo) but when viewed alone it looks white. I did verify that it glows after it is charged. I look forward to some fun projects with this thread. I know there were some negative reviews with complaints of thread breakage, fuzziness and loops. I must have a different lot or got lucky because I have not had any problems so far. I will update later if I have problems BTW I purchased this as “used very good”condition. The box was bent and discolored but the thread was still wrapped in the plastic and without stains. I feel that I got a good value for money. Addend: I stitched out a name key fob in this thread and then charged it for about 25 minutes under a light bulb. See images. I think this will work best with denser stitches and would benefit from charging under a light fit at least 30 min. ... show more

    • Easiest glow in the dark thread to sew!
I'm in love with this thread! I've used several different brands of glow in the dark thread and all have left me disappointed and frustrated. All the others are scratchy, metallic feeling, breaking and shredding easily as you sew. This one sews like butter! I used a size 90 topstitch needle, loosened my top tension a smidge, and then let 'er rip! No shredding, no breaking! It feels like and sews like regular 40 weight thread. But it glows! I don't know how long it will glow compared to other brands, but I'll be using this one for sure! It has a tremendous advantage in price point as well. Others are only a couple hundred yards for the same price as this 3000-yard spool. ... show more
