To give you some context, I’m new to the Embroider craft. I just received a new embroidery machine and wanted to give this product a try. It all worked great! There is a good variety of vibrant colors and the polyester threads held up well in my Brother Embroidery machine. I sewed some basic projects and have attached the photos. The color numbering system used by JumblCrafts is compatible with the Brother machine, so that is a plus. The product is well packaged with a good supply of embroidery machine Polyester threads. If you are using a horizontal feed for your thread, be careful to use the small capstan holder. Using the larger one will cause the thread to wrap around the spindle and possibly break a needle. (Need I tell you how I learned this lesson?) If you are looking for polyester embroidery thread, this is a good choice. ... show more

40 vibrant colors as advertised. The colors are really great. The quality of the thread is ok, it held up to the test on my embroidery machine once I figured out a couple of issues. The spool is much wider on the inside bottom than the top so it doesn't sit on the spool post the same as my other spools of thread. This caused the thread to wrap itself around the spool post which in turn lead to a broken needle in the machine. Once I figured out the issue I was able to make an adjustment on the position of the spool post and prevent the thread wrapping to occur. In the pictures attached, both green threads on the tree are from this thread kit, the thread on the ivy is a different brand. You can see that both stitched out well, the shaggy tree looks fabulous! The poinsettia is a mixture of this thread kit and my other threads on hand, again I don't see any issues, it stitched out beautifully. Value for money is excellent, the thread kit works out to be less than a dollar per spool of thread which is a fantastic price. I gave 4 stars because of the issue with the size of the spool not sitting well on the machine and also because there is no place on the plastic spool to secure the end of the thread once you are done stitching. This is a pet peeve of mine, I like my threads to be all neat in the box and not being able to secure the end on the spool allows the thread to unravel slightly when storing. ... show more

I don’t have an embroidery machine just yet but I like pretty colors as much as the next girl. I got these to use as topstitching on my craft projects. Embroidery thread generally isn’t strong enough to use for sewing but then again, it’s not intended to be. It’s made to decorate your sewing projects and these gorgeous threads will do just that. I’ve also started learning how to hand embroider and there’s more than enough thread for me to use for my practice and eventual projects as well. I’m especially appreciative of the perfect, quality case it came in. These are more than enough colors in a large enough quantity to keep me happy for a long time and that in of itself is worth 5 stars. ... show more

This is very find thread to use for machine embroidery and machine stitching. I tried also using it for hand stitching and found it was too slippery and slick and didn’t handle easily. But for machine stitching I did ot have any issues. It threaded in the machine easily and with this many colors it was a pleasure to be able to use. At first I thought the thread would not be as strong as cotton thread but now I actually think it may be stronger. You could also use this thread for making garments instead of cotton thread, but I think it’s main use is for embroidery. ... show more

These threads embroider well and the results are very good. The colors are really vibrant and a great selection. Using netting with the thread spools once opened and this is working out well. There is no thread lock/securing on the spools, but, the netting resolves that problem when the thread is not in use. Haven't used the netting while using the thread as I don't want to have to change the tensions throughout the machine... 16 needle. We did not have to change any tension on the machine. This is a nice little set for the average person.. Lots of thread choices and colors.. They come in the box shown, and as you can see, each one is covered in plastic to keep them clean.. As for strength.. This is a mid level thread.. On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the strongest, I would give this thread a rating of about 6.. It holds decently for most sewing jobs, and I have seen thread that was a LOT weaker, but I have also seen some that has been stronger.. I tested it strength by pulling on it with my fingers to see how strong it was and how much force it took to break the thread.. I have had some in the past that I could not break, and some broke very easily, so easily that I would not use it to sew anything.. I would not use this thread to sew skinny jeans with, because it is too weak to hold good under those conditions.. But, for embroidery, to sew a button on (for a shirt that is not extremely tight), sew up a basic pocket, or even put a zipper in, it should work fine.. My biggest complaint with this set is.. There is no thread holder.. A lot of spools have a slit in the spool somewhere, where you can tuck the thread into it so that it does not come loose if you have to change spools.. This spool has no spot to tuck it in, so either you have to leave it loose, or you have to tuck it under another round of thread.. ... show more
