  • Thinking of buying these? No. Just no.
Size: 50 pcs
In 40+ years of working in electronics, from ultra-sensitive light detectors to megawatt amplifier to prototype digital programmable signal generators I have never seen test leads that are this flimsy. The mini alligator clip has been made even smaller, the thickness of the clip metal is pathetic. The insulator boot has a weird feel to it and the clip slides freely inside the boot, making it very difficult to clip the lead to it. These. Are. Junk. Don't buy them unless you hate yourself and want some technical misery. ... show more

  • not very good.
Size: 50 pcs
The biggest problem with these test leads is the way the wire is terminated to the alligator clip. The connection is not durable and is very unreliable. The manufacturer simply folds the wire strands back over the insulation then crimps it to the clip. That's not durable at all. I have some old test leads from Radio Shack (20 years old) and they did it right. First there is a strain relief crimp on the jacket of the wire, then the bare wire is crimped to the clip. Since I am quarantined at home due to Covid-19, I took the time to remove the crimp, solder the bare wire to the alligator clip, then crimp the clip on to the jacket. Too much work IMO, but that's what you get for expecting high quality at a low price. ... show more

  • Plastic covers too slippery
Size: 50 pcs
Hard to fault these due to low price. As expected the wire is thin and the clips fairly low quality. What I didn't expect was that it is actually somewhat difficult to pinch the clips open. When I squeeze the plastic insulating cover, most of the time the clip slips inside the cover, staying closed so it cannot be attached to the terminal. By holding the clip very carefully, they do work, but definitely a hassle. It is as if the inside of the insulating cover is coated with soap or oil. ... show more

  • slippery
Size: 50 pcs
As others have pointed out they are to slippery to use. Even if you take the cover off and try to compress them without the insulating jacket on (by pulling them back on the wire), they are very hard to grasp and squeeze because the places where you clasp to squeeze are just to small. If the metal clasp were bigger where you squeeze them at, I think it would keep them from being so squirmy with the insulating jackets on or off. Can't recommend. There are some advertised in a 30 piece lot that says they use a pvc insulating jacket, that I have ordered to try, that claims to be not so slippery / squirmy, and are actually fairly competitively priced, and also are said to be soldered instead of just crimped. The current reviews seem to support the seller's claims, but we will see. ... show more

  • Hard to use with cover on / very light weight.
Size: 50 pcs
These are hard to use, the cover on the clip prevents any kind of grip (it keeps sliding around) and you can't get the cover back on if you pull it back to open the jaws. I have pulled the wire out of a few of them while trying to get them clipped on. I would get a bigger, heavier one if I had known how small and light these are. ... show more

  • Definitely recommend
Size: 50 pcs
As another reviewer stated they can be a bit of a pain as they will try and turn sideways on you when you press the clip insulator to open them. I already had some clips that did this and have grown accustomed to being patient when attaching them. They work fine and I challenge you to find this many clips at this price point. ... show more

  • "The clips soldered and stamping to the wires" NOT SO
Size: 50 pcs
'The clips soldered and stamping to the wires.' this is not true. they are crimped, and will have to be soldered to be reliable. They are very light duty, but expected that. I did not expect to have to solder 10 ends on 5 clips. Also the plastic used is very slippery, making it very difficult to use the clips. ... show more

  • Almost impossible to use
Size: 50 pcs
The insulating covers of the alligator clops are coated on the interior with something very slippery. This allows the alligator clips to slide out of your grasp when try to squeeze them to open the jay. That makes them very frustrating to use.
