    I recently picked up the Tascam Mixcast 4 Podcast Studio Mixer, and I have to say, I'm really impressed. This is a great little mixer that's perfect for podcasting or live streaming. It's compact and portable, so you can take it with you wherever you go. The Mixcast 4 is really easy to set up and use. It has four XLR inputs, which is perfect if you're recording a podcast with multiple hosts or guests. The mixer also has a USB interface, which makes it really easy to connect it to your computer and record directly into your DAW. One of the things I really appreciate about the Mixcast 4 is the sound quality. The preamps are really clean and transparent, and the mixer has a built-in compressor and EQ that help to shape the sound. I've used it to record both voiceovers and musical performances, and it's performed admirably in both situations. Another great feature of the Mixcast 4 is the headphone output. It has a built-in headphone amplifier that's really powerful and can drive even high-impedance headphones.     This perfect if you’re starting a podcast and aren’t sure if you want to spend a bunch of money on the Rodecaster Pro 1-2. Very simple and easy to use, you can add multiple sound effects to the buttons, with 8 pages! You could honestly have 10 people on a podcast if you do it right.     I’ve used several decks always bumping up to the next level of sound clarity and easy to use. This deck is AWESOME. You can set input and output, use preset or customize your settings. Record on the deck, transfer from deck to pc/laptop without removing the memory card. Bright clear LED screen, NOICE sliders. XLR ports for mics, 6.25 headset ports.       • Disappointing and Unreliable—Avoid This Product

    I was initially impressed with the Mixcast 4 when I first received it. It worked perfectly right out of the box, and I had no issues connecting it to my iMac. Unfortunately, this didn't last long. Now, I can barely get it to connect to my computer. I've tried everything—new USB cables, restarting both the computer and the Mixcast, and turning them on and off in different sequences. Even after multiple attempts, the connection is inconsistent at best. In addition, intermittently it will not turn on and I need to keep pushing the on/off button to get it to come on. The Mixcast has now been in repair for almost two weeks. I was informed by the repair technician that parts are on backorder from China, and they have no idea when they will arrive. More disappointment. To make matters worse, none of the features I was excited about—like using my microphone or the drops loaded in the pads—are working. If I try to play a soundtrack without the Mixcast, my computer speakers work just fine. But as soon as I turn on the Mixcast, all sound disappears, and the sound levels show nothing. I do a radio program every week and need reliable equipment. This product is unreliable and has been a huge disappointment. I just sent it off to a third part repair shop, Tascam does not repair their own equipment, and it cost me $70 to ship it, almost a quarter of the cost of the unit.     You can’t beat the price. It is a little dated compared to its competitor the rodecaster pro. Also, it doesn’t get updated as frequently as latest update was about a year ago. But ultimately it does everything you need to to create a a really great podcast. You honestly can’t lose.

    Got this bad boy in the mail today set up was a snap 🫰🏼 bravo Tascam this thing almost set's its self up. Mic set up, SD card set up Bluetooth set up, I could go on and on. (Ran my electric guitar 🎸 in it too) so clear. The versatility of this unit is more then I thought. 5 stars. 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟
