Solid amp, I have it pushing 2 Sundown ZV6 12s wired to 1ohm, it didn't come with the clip monitor like the smart bass 3k does, had to buy that separately. My subs are 2500 watts rms each and this amp makes them slam. It's a power hungry amp, I have a Singer 300 amp alternator and a 96ah headway bank and it still makes my voltage drop, so I have to get more lithium reserve. ... show more

I have this amp pushing 2 Kicker Solo X 15s. Right now, I'm only using my stock 180a alternator and stock battery so the amp is running at 4 ohms which is still 4800 watts RMS. Once I get the HO alternator installed and another battery or two, I'll drop it to 1 ohm and see what kind of damage I can do to my new car. No issues with the amp at all. These amps just came out, so comparing them to a completely different is amp complete nonsense. These Smart amps are not the best money can bye, but they are the most powerful and highest quality for the price. The Smart 8 is far more powerful then the $2,000+ 8k amps. Most only do 8-9k at 1ohm, but drop to 3-5k at 2ohms. My smart 5 was better sounding (especially in lows), and put out more power then my DD M8000 ($1700). Although the DD is quieter and better made, but cost 4x more. The talk about full bridge not being as good as a half bridge is complete BS too. ... show more

    • Why the price hike?
These amps use to be way cheaper but they are steady going up. The quality is not up to par for the pricing. Good amps but just overpriced. Taramps please lower the prices to what they use to be.
