In spite of the fact that I am a newbie in the realm of do-it-yourself projects, the installation procedure was surprisingly simple. I was able to fine-tune the fit to my vehicle's unique measurements without any effort because of the adjustable design of these bars, which is a game-changer. I was really grateful that the directions that were supplied were not only understandable but also simple to carry out. They did not protrude in an offensive manner or produce an excessive amount of wind noise, both of which had been a worry of mine. As a matter of fact, I was pleasantly surprised to find that I scarcely heard any increased noise while traveling at highway speeds. Over the course of the last several weeks, I have used this product for a variety of reasons. During weekend travels, it has pulled anything from kayaks to a cargo box that was mounted on the roof. The load capacity of 200 pounds has shown itself to be more than enough for my requirements. It is very important to me that the four locks provide me with the opportunity to relax and unwind. Years ago I purchased my SUV to be able to cart kids and all of their stuff to cheer competitions, beach outings, camping, and all sorts of traveling. The Stealership wanted over $500 for rails for the SUV and honestly I didn’t want to pay that nor did I want to spend the crazy amount for the popular Swedish brand either. Turns out the factory option is also made by the same company. Who knew? So here I am- decided to try these and see if they worked for my application. Turns out they fit great! Nice and tight! They installed so easily and are infinitely adjustable to fit a lot of applications. If you have raised rails, these will almost assuredly fit. There are not straps with these, but they have the additional upper channels that you can drill or cut in a hole in the rubber to put the common channel t bolts in to securely mount the travel boxes or safari racks to be able to take EVEN MORE stuff with you on vacations. That being said- This is a STRONG set of rails! Rounded beams have a great appearance and do not flex at all. Included with the bars is some rubber to fill the bottom of the rail, 4 keys, and an extra long Allen wrench to tighten the mounts to the rails. The oval shaped bars should make for a quieter ride but in my experience, if you get any noise with roof racks, moving them back a little will a lot of times eliminate the wind noise. The media could not be loaded. I knocked one of star off of this review because the product came to me already used and scuffed up, as can be seen in the photo. I don't like it when a company repackages a clearly used item, and then resells it as if it is new. So that rubbed me the wrong way right way. I would've only knocked a half star off, but we don't have that option. Note to buyers, use the optional rubber strip that is included., bc originally I had knocked off a second star,because after the install, I got in the car, excited for my new, cool cross bars, only to hear an extremely loud whistle being emitted from the wind hitting the crossbars as I drove. It sounded like a tea kettle at full boil. Absolutely drove me batty. Well, after my review, the company emailed me immediately, suggesting that I put on the "optional" rubber seal. This seal was included, with no explanation as to what it was for. I assumed it was to stop the bar from scratching my car, or maybe to secure the fit, but I was wrong. This strip is to stop the whistle from the wind. It must be slid in the bottom of the bar (cut into sections to be placed on the edges and in the middle of the underside of the bars) to prevent the wind from whistling through the open space on the aluminum bar. I'm not sure why this is listed as optional, bc I can't imagine someone who wouldn't need this strip. Regardless, the company got back with me immediately, giving me directions to resolve the problem. Worked like a charm! Overall, the product itself is pretty good . The allen wrench included does not easily clear the end of the crossbar in order to rotate and secure it. So this left me with having to do quite a few half turns over, and over, and over again. This will be a pain if I have to quickly change the distance between the bars for a smaller item that I may be hauling. This could have been easily remedied if they would have included an allen wrench that was 2 inches longer. It isn't a complicated installation at all, but it did take quite some time because of the allen wrench being too short to make a full circle. Maybe these crossbars are made to go on large SUV's, because I'm guessing if the tightening clamps were further apart (they slide to the width of your car), then the allen wrench might rotate more easily. But on my little suv, it was tedious to do. I will be finding a longer allen wrench to keep on my car in the case I need to change the distance between the bars or remove them for whatever reason. These cross bars did come with two sets of keys, which are important NOT to lose, because without the key, I don't know how you would get the cross bars off, or adjusted if needed. So kudos to the company for sending two sets of keys. Also, one thing that I didn't consider is that the crossbars will block your sunroof view. But that's not the end of the world for me, as I'm sure there really is no way around this if you want crossbars. The good thing is, the moonroof didn't catch on them as I was opening them. So they cleared the moon roof easily. So, I would recommend this product! So glad they told me how to get rid of the whistle, bc I couldn't have used these without sliding in the 'optional" rubber strip. Now, they are perfect! Glad I got them. I added these to 2 existing cross bars to make a 4 bar setup to hold some extra gear for adventuring. I am extremely pleased that they fit my full size SUV, a 2010 suburban. And they look great. No issues whatsoever mating to the factory rails, and they are snug and secure and not going anywhere. This is a great value as options start to get limited and expensive once you get into the 50" and up territory. ... show more

I was very concerned about whether this universal roof rack would fit for my SUV before placing an order. As soon as the goods arrived, I started unpacking them and checked it. The installation was very simple with a few accessories. According to the instrument, I finished the installation in 20 minutes, which was very suitable for my SUV and the length was just perfect. These appear to be pretty well constructed and are very easy to install. I made a measuring mistake and these are about 1" too short for my Nissan Armada raised rails. No fault of the description and I knew I'd be very close to fitting or not. I may be able to shorten the inside of the end cap to gain that 1 inch so they still may work.
