So far, no complaints with this water heater. I replaced a much more expensive unit with this one. The previous unit had the same voltage and breaker requirements, as well as similar water connections, so instillation for me was fairly simple. Performance wise, the Ecotouch heater does great, especially in my house where it typically only runs one fixture or appliance at a time. I have not experienced any cold shots of water while operating like my old water heater used to. Design wise, I like how this unit is set up, it uses a continuous metal water line with the heating element surrounding the water line. All previous on demand water heaters that I've used have had small reservoirs with the heating element submerged within the reservoirs. The Ecotouch design seem less likely to foul up with minerals in my opinion, but time will tell. Very pleased with this water heater so far, wish I'd tried this one first. ... show more

I purchase this water heater sometime ago but once I installed it work great for a while. Then somehow had some issues and it seems was a bad connection inside. I quite don't know what. I contact them by email and they answered back. . They were very helpful. We discussed ways to fix the problem or what could cause it. I tried several ways to figure out and at the end they just sent me a new one, which I installed and it works perfectly. I guess sometimes there is one bad apple. The new one works Great!!! The company did reach out to me and finally connect. It was stressful and was without hot water for about month while working it out. Got the replacement within two days of them sending it out. There was a computer glitch that caused some miss communication but it worked out in the end. The machine was replaced and is working fine now. I didn't do a 5 because of the stressful month without the tank but hey stuff happens and this product has good flow, keeps hot for a long time and is helping on the electric bill. ... show more

Prior to installing the Tankless Water Heater, it would take ~ 1-½ minutes to get hot water to our bathroom sink. After installation, it takes under 10 seconds to get hot water. Within a 2-week period after installation I had 3 or 4 instances that the water was coming out at below the room temperature. I was getter 4 dash symbols on the display panel. When it did that, I had to push the start button and the hot water was back up and running. I E-mailed Ecotouch on a Saturday evening regarding the issue and to my surprise, I received a reply Sunday evening from Elaine. She said that the unit goes to a standby mode, i.e., the 4 dashes when there’s been a complete power outage. Another causse would be if there was a timer on the line. I assured her that we hadn’t had any power outages and there’s no timer on the line because I ran new line from the breaker box to their specs, i.e., #10 wire, 30-amp breaker at 240 volts. She requested all the info regarding the Amazon order, and I sent that info the Monday. On Tuesday, I got an E-mail from her that she arranged to have a new replacement sent. On Wednesday, she sent me the tracking # and on Saturday I received the replacement and it’s been running great. As far as Elaine’s customer service, it was fantastic, it’s been many years since I experienced customer service like that! The water heater is well built and comes in a custom heavy duty walled cardboard box I have mine set for 110° F and I checked the water temp with a thermometer at it runs exactly what the setting is set to. ... show more

It took forever to get hot water to the kitchen sink and dish washer. Installed this under the kitchen sink and now we have HOT water almost immediately. I was afraid the 9K would be too small to give all the HOT water for a sink of dishes but it has performed great for a month. It was tough working under the sink, to run the wire and plumb it in but it was worth it. ... show more

Installed according to instructions, running on a 30A 240V circuit, this thing can’t even keep up with one sink. It will only heat if flow is less than 0.6 gpm, but according to their chart, at my inlet temp it should be able to heat at 1 gpm. Sure enough, you really do get what you pay for.

It was a pretty easy install. I used 1/2 inch copper pipe with foam insulation so it heats up the pipes fast and they stay hot for a while. I had to turn the temp down to shower without getting scalded. I started at 125deg. and knocked it down to 112. I thought there would be more heat loss from the basement. It also does good for a bath. The temperature swings high when you use full flow and shut the water off quickly, the heating elements are still hot so switching from tub to off to shower can produce a section of 139 deg water. I didn't have any problems with the threads leaking or not fitting, probably because I chose all my fittings carefully at the store. Inspected and tested several and took the best fittings. and used a good amount of Teflon tape and the rubber washers that came with the heater. Its been running great for over a month now with no problems. Happy customer. I will buy the same one again when we move. UPDATE: 3 Months and running great. ... show more
