This unit has a superier build quality to others that I have seen and takes advantage of superier Technology; a briliant design that should make it one of the lesser users of electricity, compaired to most others available! I first was skeptical of the price versus the quality that would end up at my door. They shipped it quickly and I was amazed at the actual size, quality and weight. The unit was very easy to install I just caution anyone looking to buy one to really think on placement. The electric wire is very expensive and you have to run 2 sets of it, I used 6-2 romex x 2 and then had to buy 2- 40amp 220 breakers. Depending on how far from your breaker box is from the unit it may cost you more in wire than the unit itself. Installing the hanger brackets needs to be precise measurement it calls for in the install directions, being off by an 1/8 inch doesn't let it sit tight on the wall. At this time it has been 3 days since I installed it and it works great, very easy to set the temp. I personally like seeing the actual flow rate displayed when it calls for hot water. It brings the water temp up quickly and it holds it at that temp consistently. I understand that the water temp output will be directly affected to the water temp input so we will wait and see what the winter has in store for us but I feel confident that I chose the correct size and proper placement. At this point in time I am very pleased that I purchased this unit and I would recommend it to anyone skeptical on buying one. Just remember buying the proper unit for your area and household size does make a difference. I liked the compact size of this unit and decided to order one to have in my shop. Installation wasn't bad except for the wiring, it requires two 40 amp breakers so double the work to run power to the unit. It worked great! Just set the temp and in 10ish seconds it provides hot water as long as you need. Then one day it wasn't working but after some research I discovered two reset buttons on heating element terminals. I pushed them they clicked and it's working again! ... show more

It was a pretty easy install. I used 1/2 inch copper pipe with foam insulation so it heats up the pipes fast and they stay hot for a while. I had to turn the temp down to shower without getting scalded. I started at 125deg. and knocked it down to 112. I thought there would be more heat loss from the basement. It also does good for a bath. The temperature swings high when you use full flow and shut the water off quickly, the heating elements are still hot so switching from tub to off to shower can produce a section of 139 deg water. I didn't have any problems with the threads leaking or not fitting, probably because I chose all my fittings carefully at the store. Inspected and tested several and took the best fittings. and used a good amount of Teflon tape and the rubber washers that came with the heater. Its been running great for over a month now with no problems. Happy customer. I will buy the same one again when we move. UPDATE: 3 Months and running great. ... show more

I ordered this 9kW unit to replace an older one of a different make. Because of size differences, it required some plumbing changes. Apparently due to shocks during shipping, some internal parts got misaligned and the unit didn't heat water. I notified Ecotouch and they immediately offered another unit at no extra charge, with free return shipping of the defective one. The new one has worked great. Ecotouch even got back in touch two months later to ask how the replacement unit was doing, and its agent offered to try to refund me the cost of the unit (to make up for the extra plumber expense in the failed attempt to make the first unit work). These people have a good product, and are really customer-oriented. I would not hesitate to buy from them again. ... show more

The unit I ordered would not power on so I contacted them for some help. They have a nice woman named Elaine who answers the emails (from an outlook address, not company) but she knows nothing about the products. To make a very long story short, there is no way to speak to anyone about technical service. Even the phone number they list as customer service in their accompanying paperwork takes you to a group who not only don't support the company but they couldn't find anyone who does!! I'm convinced there are just a couple of people who import these products from China and when they have a problem they just refund your money. Don't let the cheap price fool you, buy a reputable brand like Rheem where you know they can actually provide customer service. ... show more

So far it’s been fantastic. Heats up quick and if you play with the flow rate it can get hotter than you can possibly stand. Use in a small apt for bathroom sink, shower, and kitchen sink. So far I couldn’t be more pleased.
