    • DON"T BUY!!!!! No customer service! No phone number! No email response.

LATEST UPDATE. DO NOT BUY!!!!!! After my negative review, I FINALLY received a response from Runnatal regarding my water heater freezing, causing numerous leaks. They explained that, when the the outside temperature goes below zero degrees celsius, you need to drain the system to avoid freezing. WOW, can you imagine that??? Draining your hot water heater every time the outside temp goes below freezing, then refilling it when you need hot water. It can't get anymore inconvenient than that. After doing some research, I found that most heater manufacturers have a sensor that restarts whenever the temp goes close to freezing, recycling the water to avoid freezing. Runnatal offered no assistance whatsoever. I have had issues with 2 separate tanks and cannot get in touch with anyone at Runnatal. They do not exist once the purchase has been made. After waiting with customer service at amazon for 44 minutes, they could not provide me with contact information for Runnatal. ... show more

    • The exhaust pipe is confusing to install (works great though)

The media could not be loaded. I installed this and set it all up, and turned it on and got totally nothing happening. I was kinda confused because it seemed like I had set it up totally perfect and I took my time making sure all the fittings were correct. In the manual it mentions that if the exhaust pipe is not installed properly it wont work because it needs ventilation. I initially assumed that the holes on the end of the exhaust pipe would qualify as enough ventilation, however I noticed two very small holes about 2mm in size in the area where the elbow connects with the longer exhaust pipe piece, and those two very small holes weren't aligned. When I made that very slight adjustment and aligned those two holes the water heater INSTANTLY clicked on and started doing its thing. I've only been using it a few days now but it's been great so far. It's not as loud as the other one I used which stopped working. It's nice to be able to adjust the temperature as well. Some of the other water heaters just give you a turn-knob to adjust the temperature but this one lets you set it exactly where you want it to be. ... show more

Don't ignore the reviews you see about the E1 errors. Although at times it does light off and provide hot water, it is VERY unreliable. At least half the time the gas lights for a few seconds then goes out and then displays the E1 error. This is NOT an actual issue with gas or water pressure. The unit I had installed before this one worked fine (had to replace due to freeze damage after about 4 years of use). Also, I just purchased the Mizudo 3.6 GPM, 80,000 BTU unit, installed in EXACTLY the same way as the Runnatal, and the Mizudo functions flawlessly, every time. ... show more
