    • These work well, but not on their own...
These things don't work on a standard 15 amp house circuit. Nor do they work on a 20 amp circuit. They blow the house breaker after about 10 seconds of operation. THe manufacturer- as usual, made a really good product, but being in China, they don't understand USA power systems, and they really messed this one up. I did purchase three, and I'm very happy with them..HOWEVER, the only way I made them work without blowing my 15 amp breaker or causing a house wiring fire was, I purchased three 2000w autotransformers (search Nisorpa 2000W Variable Transformer 2000VA on Amazon) and plugged the heaters into these. Then I use the knob on the autotransformer to turn the volage down to 70 volts (that's all these heaters need to work safely). Another way to dim the thing, which I ultimately did, was not use the variacs, and instead use an inexpensive 4000 watt solid state dimmers from Amazon ..search: B08LSQWGZT Things are tiny, quiet and the work well. Getting the knob in just the right place takes a bit of tinkering- too low the heater wont heat water, too high your breaker blows. Also you have to open them and short out the fuse, or it'll blow in 5 seconds. The heaters are bruital to the power line. The heating element is 4.4 ohms. On 12o volts, that means they try to draw 27 amps from your wall plug. The company that made these things has no business shipping them with a 14ga power cord and USA plug (only good for 15 amps max). You always could have an electrician wire in a dedicated 30 amp circuit to power this heater, but the plug would never pass code inspection. I'm a geeky electronics design engineer and I like to make stuff work. All in all, unless you're a geek hacker like I am, DONT BUY THESE HEATERS ... show more

    • Power issue
I installed this system and to get “warm” water, it has to be flowing pretty slow. Hot need to be almost off, about the size of a pee stream. Constantly tripping the circuit breaker and not worth the time/money. Buy once and get a stronger and better system.

I added this water heater to a bathroom in an old commercial building that had no water heater. Just needed to have warm water for washing hands. As long as you don't turn the water on all the way at the faucet it gets warm enough for hand washing.
