  • Not Very Good...
This vice sort of works but has some problems. First, there are no pads so if you need to be careful of damaging an item, use cloth or something to protect it from the jaws. Second, the metallic paint will definitely flake off with use. Third, there isn't much room in the table attachment so good luck if you have a thick table or desk. Lastly, mine wasn't even. The jaws didn't have uniform compression and seemed to stick at weird angles. I think the base metal is aluminum or something. It tends to deform and the screw treads are very rough. Overall, this is not a good product. ... show more

  • Irredeemably poor tolerances. BUT- made of metal.
Got the vice tonight. Right off the jump it was "not working"; while turning the vice handle to expand the jaws, it had the feeling of spinning a stripped bolt through a stripped nut. I worked out that the jaw that moves was meeting enough resistance from the clamping pressure of the assembly against the table that instead of moving the jaw, it was moving the snap ring that was supposed to hold the handle and screw stationary to work against the moving jaw, down the shaft of the screw. I found that relieving the clamp pressure from the base to the table was just enough to allow the jaw to move "freely" but without the lever of the ring to press against the jaw, I had to hold the jaw in place in order for the screw to work as a lever against it to move it. Once I had completely backed the jaw out- I was able to use a set of snap ring pliers to move the snap ring back down the shaft of the screw in to its groove, and reassemble. At first the jaw moved back and forth freely so I thought maybe the snap ring was improperly installed? Nope- whenever the vice is clamped, it causes the snap ring to back out because of the poor tolerance. I find that if I use one hand to hold on to the jaw and yank on it as I work the handle, it will sort of work. And the vice IS made of metal rather than plastic. But unfortunately, I can't recommend it for any other reason. ... show more

  • Mini Table Clamp!
I wanted small, and small is what it is....Great for holding small parts, when a full size vice clamp doesn't fit the job. Cut and glued rubber to fit the clamp faces to not allow the piece to slip nor score the piece being worked on!

  • Very small
This just fit on my worktable, which is 1-5/16" thick. I was hoping it would fit over my self-healing mat too, but it doesn't. I started building my own dollhouse furniture and just needed something to hold small pieces of wood so I could drill holes, but the space between the clamps is very shallow so this isn't ideal for anything over 1-2 inches deep. ... show more

  • Cute little vice. Very handy.
Definitely a good size for working with or making jewelry. Its rather unlike me...but I did not read the reviews and descriptions before I purchased this. I was in a bit of a hurry. I lucked out...seems like a good quality for the price. Seeing as all my plans for its use are of delicate and small nature...I am sure that it is plenty strong enough. Will definitely come in handy for many things. ... show more

  • Cheap and flimsy, but got the job done
This appears to be cheaply-made and flimsy, but it got the job done for what I needed it. I used to to press two nickels together, around a guitar strap, to make the leather thinner. It was very hard to tighten these with the small lever. If I need to fix another guitar strap, I will probably buy a slightly more expensive and heavy-duty clamp, but for light use this would probably be fine. ... show more

  • Smaller than you think.
When I received the package from Amazon, I thought what could be in the small box? I did not expect this device to be that small. it basically looks like a toy for a seven-year-old. it does clamp of small items down, so it works OK. But it is somewhat flimsy so I don’t expect it to last too long.
