  • Am I lucky?
Color: Kong
I’m seeing all these reviews of people complaining about the figure and I’m questioning if I’m lucky because I have hardly any issues with this figure. The sculpting is great, although inaccurate. But I believe the reason for its inaccuracy is that fact that it was sculpted off of ape skeletons rather then a Kong render. So it’s basically an accurate ape with features of Kong 2021, but I don’t know for an absolute fact if this is true. The paint job is great, though I don’t really see how you could mess up a paint job for kong… it’s really black with brown dry-brush, but the paint in the mouth/teeth of the roaring head and on the battle axe look fantastic. The accessories are great and the amount the figure comes with for the price of $68 is unbelievable for an SHMA. The roaring head I have the most issue with (mainly cause of the inaccurate sculpt) but I’m not gonna complain because it’s better than not having a roaring head. Though I do wish it came with an angry face or something like that. Now for this big part… the articulation. On mine the articulation is great, but I too have issues. My issues are no where near as bad as other claim to have, but my right leg is a bit lose which can be irritating when trying to pose the figure and the left leg seems to be turned left a bit so when I try to “fix” it the leg will pop off, but nothing is broken and it’s an easy fix. I obviously can’t say that people are over exaggerating on how “poor” their figure is, but just know, don’t be rough on the figure or something will pop off, and these figures are not very good gifts for kids. There not toys, there collector items and they are recommended for around 16+. I’m not telling anyone what they can and can’t do, but some children are rough with toys and SHMA are well known for breaking easily, so if you wanna buy an expensive figure that could break for your kid, that’s on you. Overall the plastic for this figure seems to be softer than any plastic I’ve seen before on an SHMA, so that could be a major factor for the “easy popped off parts” for this figure. I personally would 100% recommend this figure because your not gonna find a Kong figure let alone an SHMA, with as much accessories and articulation at the price of $68. But remember at the end of the day, my opinion doesn’t matter and the choice is yours. ... show more

  • Request it shipped in a Box!! IT'S NOT A TOY!
Color: Godzilla
After reading countless reviews on here about people receiving damaged boxes, I was hesitant to buy this from Amazon. But it was listed at the retail price of $68 (with free shipping as well, surprisingly) and I didn't want to overpay. I contacted Amazon customer service via thier Chat, and requested they make a note on my order for it to be shipped in a Box, NOT a bubble mailer bag/evenelop and that I would immediately be returning it (without even opening it first) otherwise if it's not. Sure enough, it was shipped to me in a box and was in excellent condition, whew! One more thing I'd like to mention is people are apparently buying this figure for their young children to play with and blaming the product for lack of quality. This IS NOT a children's toy in any way whatsoever. This is a premium adult collectable ment to be posed, sat on a shelf for display and that is it. It is fragile and not ment for rough handling, it isn't a plaything. It's a display piece. Why anyone would pay $70-$120 for a 6 inch tall Godzilla figure thinking it's an actual children's toy is baffling. So that was a mistake on their part, no fault of the figure itself. People complaining about pieces falling off or gaps in the figure cannot possibly be familiar with Figuarts/Monsterarts. Look at these as pre-assembled model kits, in a way. That's how fragile these are so don't be surprised when your figure falls apart in 15 different pieces if you treat them like a $20 Marvel Legend. The majority of complainers on here have no experience with these and it shows. Smh. Mine came in great condition, looks absolutely amazing and I'm pleased to say that this batch seems to have a better paint application on the mouth than the first ones that were shipped out. It's a shame it doesn't include the Atomic Breath effect. That's unforgivable. It comes with two alternate hands, that's it. Articulation is terrific, the paint isn't sloppy at all and the joints are functional with acceptable range of motion as expected. Very happy with this. Had to wait about 12 days before it shipped but was worth it because I got it at it's original retail price with free shipping instead of paying the $120 most places are charging for it right now. Highly recommended to any SHMA collectors that are Godzilla fans. This thing is absolutely beautiful and pleased to have it in my collection. Kudos to Amazon for actually shipping it to me in great condition. Do not buy this for your kids, IT'S NOT A TOY! ... show more

  • Amazing
Color: Godzilla
My figure arrived a day early and I was so excited to open it, at first glance it seemed a little small, but then I remembered it said that it was 6in tall. I was testing out the articulation but then the tip of the tail kept popping off, a little annoying but not too bad. Overall though, it is amazing and I am definitely satisfied with it, do recommend! ... show more

  • I love this piece but not what I expected
Color: Grey
I really like this piece. Detail is fantastic. The motion of the legs and arms and head are limited. Taking it out of the box one of his neck fins broke off. Adjusting his head another right below it broke off then a third broke off while I was glueing the others back on. The glue held pretty good until I tried to adjust the head again. The head can only have a slight downward glance. The legs are hard to position to keep it balanced without it leaning forward making the head glance further down. Arms are very tight and limited in motion. I think the fins broke because of a cast flaw. There is a panel line that all three broke on. Maybe cast a little too deep. All other fins seem strong. The fins are back right side of neck. Otherwise great looking piece not for children. Only display. ... show more

  • SH Monster Arts is an embarassment
Color: Godzilla
This figure costed me almost $200. The tip of the tail fell off right out of the box. The arm came apart first time I turned it. The paint isn't even applied evenly throughout the figure (some gloss some matte finish). The right shoulder is HORRIBLY MOLDED. It's not even flush with the body. You always hear about how good SH MA figures are, but this is my first SH Monster Arts figure and probably going to be my last. At least the box was shipped in two layers - a cardboard box inside an Amazon cardboard box. ... show more
