  • Needs a software update
Style: Bot White
I love the product because it's a great alternative to changing your light fixtures permanently. I stay in a loft, which is obviously not a permanent place of residence. Dislike I have is that the Bluetooth system and the wifi system doesn't really work well together. I had a hard time connecting with wifi after I successfully connected through Bluetooth, and vice versa. and once I finally got that situated, a week later it lost connection completely and couldn't connect again. I replaced it and purchased another. so maybe a software update could fix this , other then that , sometimes in the middle of the night , the switches will flip on and off in sequence as if someone else is turning my lights on and off. really creepy since I live by myself. ... show more

  • Homekit via Homebridge and Matter soon!
Style: Bot White
My switch bot experience has been very positive, as a renter it's nice to be able to add smart lighting control to lighting fixtures do not have replacement bulbs, namely overhead t8 style bulbs and faux overhead led lighting fixtures. The only issue I have is the reliability of connecting it through homebridge to homekit, they seem to be unresponsive sometimes but that's likely a quirk of the api and homebridge. I'm very excited for matter support and am looking forward to the new hub that supports matter control. the only feature that I want to make sure can happen is that homekit through matter sends an off command regardless of whether the switch is in the on or off state since the switchbot bot is hooked up to dumb rocker switches, the bot itself doesn't actually know the real state the switch is in if it was manually toggled to a different state, but the homebridge connection will ignore sending the off command when the remembered state is set to off instead of just sending another off signal command. ... show more

  • A lot of work to work an espresso machine, but success!
Style: Bot Black
Espresso machine (La Spaziale Lucca) has an activation switch that sits about 1/3” proud of flush. I had to MacGyver a magnetic platform from wood strips and neodymium disc magnets using my own better VH tape (wood glue, a Dremel, epoxy had their part too). Then sat the whole contraption on a piece of bike inner tube to protect the machine’s chrome. The Switchbot really needs a way to adjust how much the articulating arm protrudes. The lack of that drove me nuts trying to disl in the optimal platform height and hang-over. The long-press feature was critical for me. I would only go to this effort when coffee is involved. ... show more

  • Great so far
Style: Bot White
This little thing is pretty awesome. Setting up the phone app and making the timing schedule was super easy. It's worked great from day one. My only complaint is that the directions for attaching it to the switch/wall were a little confusing. I had to attach it and remove it from the light switch a few times to get the switch piece and the smaller "pull" piece to align correctly. Once I got it though, it's worked flawlessly. Is super quiet and speedy when it clicks on/off. Saved me from having to install a timer into the light fixture. ... show more

  • Makes your dumb things smart!
Style: Bot Black
Been using Switchbot products for over a year now. I currently have 3 Bots and 8 Smart plugs. The smart plugs are very eye opening because not only do they make my dumb things smart, but they also allow me to monitor the power usage. I have actually been able to save money. For example, my jeep will only start charging after 9pm when electricity rates are cheaper. Since they monitor power, I have been able to set up automations that tell me when the laundry or dishes are done depending on the power usage. The Bots are equally awesome. They are the only product on the market that allow me to make dumb devices that require a button to be pushed, reliably smart. I used them on my Christmas lights, coffee maker, projector and electric heater. Both do work locally with Home Assistant. ... show more

  • Does the job! (with the hub!)
Style: Bot White
I am able to remotely access my PC from anywhere, not just my home network. Before I bought this device, my problem was that I don’t like keeping my PC on unattended, which meant sometimes I would try to remote in, but unable to because the PC was in Sleep mode or turned off completely. So I use this device to turn on my PC when I am not at home, and it does the job perfectly! You are also able to time presses too which was neat. But I did knock off 1 star because you do need a hub to make it work with Alexa. It would be neat to see the company make a hub-less version! ... show more

  • Works flawlessly
Style: Bot Black
It works exactly as expected. It’s a unique use case. We have a “security” tv in our bedroom that displays our security cameras. It was on a smart plug and when it received power, it would turn on. My dad had a larger tv he didn’t want, so we upgraded our security tv, but the new one did not power on when it was “plugged back in”…….. so I ordered a switch bot and hooked it up to Alexa, and tada, it all works. ... show more

  • Last mile of automation
Style: Bot Black
If you’re like me and trying to automate as much as possible around the house, it turns out there are a few things hard to automate. For instance, I have an old space heater that only turns on by pushing the power button. Upon discovering SwitchBot, I can now automate turning on/off the heater everyday with ease! And with the new SwitchBot hub I can even control it via Alexa. Awesome, unique home automation item that I’m continually thinking about “what else could I automate with one of these?” ... show more
