  • A Must Have Grip!!!
Color: Switch Grip-Black
This is the second grip I've purchased & is a big improvement from my first one in many ways. My original grip was excellent for the six years I owned it. My original grip was the kind where the Switch snaps right on easily & felt secure & the grips were made of rubber which felt nice & very secure in the hands, but recently started peeling in spots which is the main reason I replaced it. My Switch fits even more securely in this model since it slides right down into position from the top & won't pop out. I love the kick stand as well as the game card holders. They slide right into the slots very securely with a very snug fit & won't fall out even if you shake the unit while holding it upside down. I installed the caps on the joy sticks & they feel great as well! I've mainly played my Switch docked for the past seven years I've owned it, but will for start playing it handheld more with this new grip. I did a lot of research before settling on this grip & very happy with my purchase so far! A must have for sure! Great price! ... show more

  • ...I think my search is over
Color: Switch Grip-Black
So... I’m a gear junkie. Always nitpicking and trying to find a product that checks all boxes with as little compromise as possible. As you can see from the first pic, I have a lot of grips... and I’m always swapping between them based on feel and function to definitively decide which grip my switch will live in. I have both versions of the Skull&Co’s, the Mumba battle series, Satisfye and now this new champ. I’ve had a couple others but gifted them to friends. Enough about me though, I just wanted it to be clear that I’m reviewing this based on what I’ve used and not speculation. This Oivo is incredible and caught me completely by surprise as I bought it on a whim after ordering a bluetooth adapter that plugs into the C port and didn’t fit in my pervious favorite grip case. Grip is of course subjective with lots of variables like someone’s hand size, the way they hold the system or even where they rest their fingers so there’s never going to be true gospel on this kind of product but the ergonomics on the Oivo hit all the right spots for me. The Satisfye is of course the easiest to compare to so I’ve posted a couple picture to show some of the differences in size and features. I wear medium sized gloves and the Satisfye is too bulky for me. The rubber coating on it is great but because of the round shape and thickness of the grips I find that my right hand is always sliding up a bit as I reach for R and ZR, to combat this my ring finger tends to grab the bottom of the grip case for stability where there’s no contour and that causes discomfort for me. The Satisfye’s stand feature is also a technicality at best to me, it does hold up the Switch but at an impractical 90° that doesn’t play well with tabletop viewing. I didn’t leave the Oivo 100% as sold. I added some rubber grip stickers because I’m not a fan of the bare plastic which to be fair does indeed feel like Nintendo’s pro controller that the handles were modeled after. For my hands the feel between the Satisfye and Oivo is night and day. The Oivo has contour throughout with no sudden angles, it’s noticeably lighter without feeling cheap and a bit slimmer giving my index finger an easier time to reach R and ZR. The kickstand is also a KICKSTAND. It’s adjustable with a lot of range and pulls double duty of keeping the Switch locked in place. Another note between the two is that while the Satisfye does a great job of keeping the Switch in place without a locking mechanism the tight fit always makes me nervous, I tend to carefully insert and remove the system slowly by its joy cons and not the system itself because it feels like the joy cons railings could be damaged if not done correctly. The Oivo on the other hand has a ‘just’ snug enough fit that makes inserting and removing the system thoughtless. It probably wouldn’t keep the console in too well without the lock but that’s what the lock/stand is there for. The last feature to touch on of course are those game slots... they’re great too. Games slide in easily as well but don’t feel like they’re in danger of falling out due to the felt used to pad the insides of the slots and 5 does seem like a practical number of game options for a day trip but mileage may vary there. This thing’s probably the easiest grip case that I’ve used to recommend. It’s priced to sell, comfortable, feature packed and even plays nice with bluetooth dongles. ... show more

  • Buy this! Should be an OEM part!
Color: Switch Grip-Black
I originally purchased a Skull grip case, but no matter what I did, that case hurt my wrists to use. I also wasn’t thrilled with the execution for the price, or the fact that I had to constantly pop it in and out of the case if I wanted to use the joy-cons or the screen separately. I initially was trying to choose between the Saysfye and this. Since I had already purchased the Oivo clip for the pro controller and was impressed with the quality and execution of it, I gave this a shot. I wanted a case that made it more comfortable to use my switch as a single unit, and I am so glad I found this case! It is everything! The quality is great, the asymmetrical design is brilliant. I was skeptical at first, but once you use it, you realize exactly why you need it and why it makes sense. This design actually puts your hands in an ergonomic position - the skull case I mentioned did not. The cartridge slots in the back are my favorite feature - I love that I can switch between my favorite games on the fly. They are tension-fit, but they work beautifully. If you are buying this for or as someone who is rough on their electronics, I might worry that you could lose some cartridges after an afternoon of rough play, but you’d have more to worry about at that point with the switch than just a missing cart or two. The built-in stand is a nice touch. I didn’t think I’d use it much, but just used it yesterday and was happy to have it and glad it worked so well. When not in use, the stand folds over the tip of the unit, and is designed so that the headphone port and cartridge slot are still accessible. My only gripe is that the stand feels a little “loose” when in this position- I wish there were a firmer “click” into place when put up like this. But it is a minor complaint and doesn’t affect the overall experience at all. The Switch itself slides easily in and out of the case, and feels secure once in place. The only other thing on my wishlist for this case is a rubberized texture. The actual case is a hard plastic with very minimal texture on the handles. It hasn’t been a problem, but it would be nice for the case to feel more secure in my hand without needing to subconsciously apply more grip force to compensate for the lack of a rubberized texture. In conclusion, it feels like this is the case that the Switch should have come with from day 1. After plenty of use, my hands feel fine, and I have found that I use my pro controller much less since this offers greater convenience and more features. Give this a try if you’re in the fence! ... show more
