  • Well engineered, built to last.
Size: 1 Each Style: 40 Sheet Pattern Name: Staples
This review is only for the 74357 paper punch, meant for up to 40 sheets. First thing I did was punch holes in 500 sheets of paper a little heavier than regular paper. It worked perfectly. Because my paper was heavier than regular, I only punched 20 to 30 sheets at a time. It comes with 3 punch heads, but can hold more if you want to punch more holes in each sheet. Product description gives wrong part number for replacement punch heads. Bottom of punch gives correct part number. Paper goes in vertically, so gravity helps hold paper in correct position for punching. Very glad I bought it. Added note: Moving or replacing a punch head needs a screwdriver, but is about as easy as changing a light bulb. ... show more

  • Punches clean holes!
Size: 1 Each Style: 20 Sheet Pattern Name: Staples
Love this hole punch. My old one is over 20 years old and was sticking and not creating a clean hole. The new one works like a champ! There are NO directions on or in the box on how to unlock the lock so that you can use it. Other people have mentioned this too. I tried You Tube videos, but they didn't explain it well enough so I looked for written directions on the web. The following is a direct copy of what I found that worked in a second plus a few extra helpful words! The key is: You have to press down on the handle/punch arm with one hand while sliding the locking device, at the base of the handle/punch arm, to the unlocked position. That is all it took to work well! To unlock a Swingline hole punch, you need to: Place the punch on a firm surface. Hold down the punch arm and move the gray piece, at the base of the punch arm, to the left. It will unlock. You must have the arm held down to lock or unlock. ... show more

  • Perfect Hole Punch; Needs Instructions
Size: 1 Each Style: 20 Sheet Pattern Name: Staples
If you are a teacher, work in a job where you regularly need to punch holes in papers, homeschool, etc. this is the hole puncher for you! It is fantastic quality! Pros: It arrives in a durable box which I kept for storage. The handle saves you so. much. effort! If you have any kind of issues with your wrists, arthritis, tendonitis, etc. this helps enormously! The item is extremely durable. The holes get punched with accuracy. Cons: I found punching much over ten pages (it advertises twenty pages) that the accuracy goes down. With about 10-13 pages the hole puncher is flawless. Also, there really should be instructions. The item does not come with them. It would help to know how to manually adjust the holes but especially how to unlock the item! It has a drawing on the back of the hole punch, but the diagram does not accurately reflect the unlocking mechanism process. Thank goodness for online videos! Suggestions for Usage: -To unlock, the diagram on the hole puncher says to slide the unlock mechanism to the left or right. However, you must push the handle down as you do so which is not indicated on the box anywhere. Once you figure it out, though, it is super easy. -For storage, lock the item back in place. Someone in my family forgot, and I had a challenging time getting the product back out of the box because the handle was wedged tight. -As mentioned above, the item works better punching about 10-13 pages at a time (in my opinion). -When you hole punch, push the lever all the way down firmly or the little round pieces do not get all the way pushed out of the papers. -If I don't empty the storage tray after about 70-80 pages of hole punching it works less efficiently. So, I would recommend emptying after at least about 80 pages. All-in-all this product is worth every penny! It is durable, easy to use (once it's clear how to utilize the features), saves time, and eases the wrist in repeated hole punching (has helped me to prevent inflammation). I hope this review helps someone!! ... show more

  • Recommended Hole Punch
Size: 1 Each Style: 20 Sheet Pattern Name: Staples
Good hole punch does what it's designed for. For me the price wasn't an issue maybe because of Prime for a little over $15 it does what it's designed for and if it wears out it's no biggie to replace. Pros: - The Handle - best thing ever added to a hole punch made the entire process so much easier specially in my case as I had it turned sideways when I was using it. - The Lock - yes there's a lock on the back that allows the punch to be locked down, handy if you have children who like to make "circle" or "dots" with your papers. (I'm out of that stage but remember it well) - Paper Amount - I've not tested it yet to see just how many papers it will punch at once but really have no desire to do that. However that being said I did punch a small stack of around 12 maybe a few more with no problem see the handle again here it give extra leverage Cons: - The Lock - now why would I put that is a pro and con well it has to do with the fact I had no idea it was there and it took me about 10 minutes to figure it out. LOL FYI you have to hold the handle down to move it and the unit comes locked. For you since I've let you know about it then it won't be a negative. - The Bottom - there's a rubbery thing on the bottom that is there to catch the "dots" however the unit moves back and forth in it sideways to me this was annoying I've bought many different hole punches over the years and by far this has appeared to be the best one. I'm a light user who uses it in my home office for whatever I need 3 holes in. I recommend this product taking into account that a user wanting it for extremely heavy use might not want to buy this product as I'm not positive if it's designed for that sort of abuse. ... show more
