  • Great Bike, worth the money for sure. You won't find cheaper at this quality.
Color: White Size: Large
I own 4 different electric bikes for different height people in my family: 1) the Addmotor Hithot H1- for me, I am 5'11'' and this is perfect size for taller people. 2) the Genze Series 200 16-inch frame step through- for my 5'5'' wife. 3) the Swagtron EB-5- which is the most diverse in size adjustment, fitting all sizes from my tiny 9 yo to my 5'11 frame with no issues. 4) the Swagtron EB-6- which is this mountain bike you are looking to purchase. The EB=6 is the perfect electric mountain bike for kids and about the only electric pedal bike I could find specifically designed for kids. My 9 yo looks a little too small for the bike (she is 40's percentile for height). Not that she could not ride it, she could. But if you saw her you would definitely say "why are you riding your older siblings bike?" You would know it is not meant for her. It does fit my 11 yo old son and 13 year old daughter perfectly. He is 4'11 and she is 5'2. The bike is clearly made for people about this height. My 5'4 friend rode it with the seat adjusted up just a little and it looked good for him too. I am 5'11 though and when I get on it I can tell you that it feels too small for sure. But Swagtron built it as a "youth" bike and so clearly it is made for smaller body sizes. It would likely do well for shorter adults. Using the bike without any electricity is a pleasure. Its gears shift and function like a regular mountain bike. I have tried it going up and down hills just to test it out. And I can tell you that the gears work just as good as any other mountain bike. Well enough so that it is easy to pedal uphill if you want to. With electricity going, this EB-6 is powerful. I live on a hill and it easily brings by 180 pound body up the hill with ease when using the throttle alone. It is reasonably quick. About 10 to 15 mph if you are using just the throttle. You can go much faster if you are using the pedal assist mode. The one and only downfall of the bike is that it does not have an adjustable pedal assist. It is either on or it is off. There is no in between. For example, my Addmotor bike has 5 different levels of assist, from helping just a little at level 1, to going full throttle at level 5. But in fairness my Addmotor bike costs $1600, twice more than this EB-6 with only 1 level assist. The EB-6 seems to go at about 80% max power with the pedal assist (compared to full throttle). And there is no turning down the amount of assist. Another negative is if you turn off the pedal assist then you turn off the ability to just use the throttle. Since it does not have a multilevel pedal assist, I wish the pedal assist could be turned off but then we could just use the throttle when we needed it. But it does not do that, either the pedal assist and throttle are both on, or they are both off. Swagtron should at least fix this, which would be easy without having to provide the more expensive multilevel pedal assist. Simple have the pedal assist on or off separate from the throttle would be my advice. Last negative is the bike seat feels tough for me because I have a bad back and there is no shock absorbers on this bike. I find that this is very common on electric bikes, they come without shock absorbers. So my solution has been to buy the "Giddy Up! Bike Seat." It seemed to have the best reviews on amazon. It is basically a seat with built in shock absorbers and memory foam. Makes the ride much more comfortable. Not to mention it adds safety with the flashing light. But in the end, for the $799 price I paid for it then it is easily a 5 out of 5 star. Especially since it seems to be one of the only quality electric bikes that could fit my 11 yo and 13 yo children. I bought 1 of them as a gift off the Swagtron website, cheaper by $20 with a coupon code. The entire family enjoys biking now on the bike routes with tons of hills, we are exercising more and getting healthier. Where as before they refused to go biking due to the difficult of the hills. So get this bike, it helps defeating family TV watching, helps getting entire family outside to exercise. ... show more

  • Trash, complete trash
Color: White Size: Large
The media could not be loaded. This ebike has some of the worst construction and components I've ever seen. I rode it 3x a week for a month and the front disc brake completely detached from the front wheel, the screws that hold the metal disc to the front wheel broke off while I was riding it home from work. The back brake line constantly pops off it's bracket, meaning the brake won't work and I quite literally crashed my bike because of this, I've since used a ziptie to prevent that from happening again. Also, the left pedal unscrews from the bike with each rotation (every time you pedal the bike). I have to carry around a large allen wrench to tighten the pedal before I start riding every day. The bike comes with a 1 year warranty, but I would have to find a box to ship it in and pay to ship the ~60 pound bike to them without reimbursement. Are you kidding me?! Don't buy this. I really, really wanted to enjoy this bike. I bought 2 (!!!) Of them. Now, I have 2 expensive pieces of junk. I managed to hobble together my 2 ebikes to make one semi-functional bike, but why the heck should I have to do that? ... show more

I bought this for my 8-year-old grandson. Very easy to assemble. It looks really nice. The battery lasts a long time. And rides very nice. Buying another one for my other grandson.

  • Thinking of buying?
Color: White Size: Large
First off, let's get the bad out of the way & why I don't give it 5 stars. The box came completely smashed (Not the sellers fault I imagine), but, secondly, & what is an issue with thw seller/manufacture, is that on the front fork where the axle slots in it was too small for the axle on one side. So I had to use the dremel on that too widen it. No biggie for me, but for someone without the tools I have, they wouldn't have been able to assemble the front tire. Not even with hammering would it have fit. Not close. It either got bend in (unlikely as the fromt part of the box wasn't damaged) or, & what seems more likely, is that is just happened to be poorly machined fork. Only thing wrong with it that I can't currently fix, is the derailer. It seems to have maybe got damaged when the box did, because it won't shift all the way up into 1st gear. Otherwise, it shifts fine & pretty smoothly. It may just need some adjustment, so I'll have to research how & tinker with it. Edit: the derailleur was indeed damaged in shipping, but I was able to make adjustment & now have it shifting properly throughout all gears. & Noww, I can FINALLLY talk about just how amazing the bike is so far, & Wow, it is just that. First off, it came probably 85% charged. So far, I have rode it through one battery (without running it completely dead) & went roughly 40 miles (using pedal-assist intermittently & pedal only otherwise) on that one charge. I'd say their claims of "20 miles on throttle only" is a fair estimate. It was split into 2 riding sessions. I had a blast.. Edit: I have now put the bike through its paces. Over fair bumps & up & down hills. Testing the brakes more. & its got about 65 miles on 2 1/2 charges, & so far so good. I enjoy the bike more with each ride. Edit: over 200 miles now & no issues. Brakes calipers needed alignment with the rotor & now they work noticably better. Hit some very rough bumps on the side of the rode one day. Surprised it didn't break tbh. A couples spokes needed some tightening after that, but all else is great! & to anyone wondering, I'm 5'11" & 140pnds. I dont have to hunch over. For reference, i have the seat raised about 3-4inch (unless loosenened the seat from the post & slid it back as far as it would go) & the handlebars in their most upright position. Many people in the comments were saying it's only for riders up to 5'4" or so, & that you'll look like a clown on this if you're any bigger, I disagree. Maybe because in my area adults sometimes ride 20" BMX bikes. Tgis bike is similar to a 20" BMX, exvept Its more like a 24" mountian bike i'd say. Except for the distance between the seat & handlebars is slightly closer together (can be fixed with a layed-bak seatpost if you're taller than me or just feel cramped. Also, there is enough slack in the cables to add somewhat of a lengthened handlebar stem in order to push the bars out further forward away from the rider. Maybe a 100mm length extender at max. One other thing I want to note in regards to this topic, is that my 26" MTB from wal-mart is WAY more uncomfortable to ride (as far as riding position).. I Dont feel cramped at all, rather I feel at home on it. But maybe it's because I'm on the slender side, idk. Having said that, if your taller than me, I'd say It would still fit someone up to around 6' & 180pnds or so before you'd need to start modifying the bike. & with layed-bak seatpost + stem extender, probably can be made to be comfortable at around 6'3"., The bike has disc brakes front/rear. Which is nice, but be careful on long downhill because I could see the brakes giving out. Im fairly light, & down a 1/4 mile downhill i was having to use more brake near the bottom of the hill than i was using near the top. Thats a sign they were already building too much heat. & it's fairly heavy (but not bad), so it can build up some high speeds down the hills in a hurry if you let it. The brakes themselves seem decent & have decent rotors too, but just be careful on the longer downhills is all I am saying👍.. As far as it's power, man does it go well for what it is. It essentially has 3 modes. pedal only (by turning off the electronics with the red switch on handlebars), pedal-assist (not I-PAS), & motor only modes. Pedal-assist is what I mostly ride in if not peddling normally, but I cheat on uphills by using throttle. it zipps right on up the same 1/4mile hill I had previously mentioned. & it's not super quick off the line (I think the speed controller keeps it from going 100% power unless already decently moving), but when going up the decently steep hills it doesn't really lose much power. Granted, as i said, im fairly light. Negatives about the bike itself/ the way it rides?; not really many beyond what i mentioned already. The seat is uncomfortable, but what do you expect with a bike at this price. The tires, grips, pedals aren't made with A+ quality materials, but they're fine. I'd give them collectively a C. The shimano derailleur isn't the lowest tier one, so that good. Its a Shimano Tourney ty21. & overall the bike build quality is seemingly pretty solid. 6061 aluminium frame & a hybrid wheel design consisting of standard spoke/hub designs, but with a nylon type outer rim. Unique & I kinda like the idea. Not great if you wanna make it tubeless obviously, but should be durable. Maybe if they got rid of the stupid ding-ding bell, they could splurge for some metal pedels vs the plastic ones or nicer grips. They included all the tools you need + extra, but no tool to check the tightness of the rear axle nuts (as they are different size than the front because the rear needs to be more beefy from the added hub weight etc). Beyond that, I can't think of anything to objectively or subjectively complain about. Overall, I love the bike &, assuming I just got one of the ones that wasn't machined quite properly on the fork dropouts, i'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a budget fatbike. Anyways, to anyone considering buying for a kid, make sure you teach them to ride it & watch them at first. Its more for adults imo & youths who already somewhat seasoned riders. Also, the bike needs to be gone through & all bolts checked for tightness before riding. Take care & stay safe folks! ... show more
