I highly recommend that you look up YouTube videos and internet articles on how to your these items BEFORE you take them on an adventure. Try them all at home. For instance, the whistles are weak and you'll want to replace them with real whistles coaches use. Does the firestarter work for you? If not, look up how to use them. Does the saw work? Do you need to use them with gloves? Try them out. Are the bandages enough? Then add more. Do you have a better quality knife? Replace the kit one with yours. Do you know what to do with paracord? If not, get familiar with several ways to tie ropes, and include a primer with your kit. ... show more

All works great, seems decent quality other then flashlight which didn't work. Also would recommend a back up thermal blanket, the one in this kit might be fine for emergencies.
