Description

The SuperSteer SS450 Rear Trac Bar is compatible with Ford E-450 V10 chassis up to 2020 model year that has a OEM rear sway bar. Does NOT fit the new V8 chassis. The SuperSteer Rear Trac Bar is designed to reduce rear axle side-to- side play, which prevents "Tail Wagging The Dog" motion and greatly improves stability in turns and reduces right-left corrective steering. The SuperSteer Rear Trac Bar attaches to the vehicle frame on one end and rear axle on the other. The SuperSteer Rear Trac Bar is made out of heavy gauge steel, powder coated blue, and contains polyurethane bushings and installs using existing mounting points.

  • A must upgrade to tame the beast.
This is a very well (USA) made part. It’s heavy duty with great customer support. The instructions are very detailed with color pictures, see pictures item is blue. I have to recommend installing the Hellwig heavy duty sway bars like I did. Since you have to take some of it apart anyway. I also upgraded my front sway bars. I have a 2020 Ford E450 motor coach 31 foot. I also tow my car with a dolly. It has made a huge difference. I’m no longer impacted by trucks or wind like I used to. No more white knuckles. Abe to make turns and drive around curves without feeling so much lean and sway. I did the installed myself and saved so much money. You must have an impact tool and a torque wrench. All of which you can rent from you local auto store. Check with your manufacturer for proper torque. The Super Steer instructions were nice enough to include the recommended torques. I happen to use lock tight on some parts but that’s me. I used my leveling blocks to bring the rear up to 6 inches. Make sure to used the E-brake and chuck the tires. Please be safe. You do need a second pair of hands. You can rig up with floor jacks to hold thing in place if you don’t have someone to help you. I took my time and got it all done in 2-1/2 hours that’s including removing to stock sway bars and replacing them, It’s hot here in Florida so I had to take a couple of breaks. Also check YouTube there are many videos. You can save yourself a lot of money by installing it yourself. The RV shop near me was charging $200.00 an hour. ... show more

  • Key modification for Ford E-450 Class C Motorhomes to Improve Handling
We Installed the new track bar on our 2004 Ford E-450 24’ Class C Motorhome. I had previously installed Heavy duty Roadmaster sway bars (front and rear), bilstein shocks, new rear Springs, rear axle air bags and trucenter steering stabilizer. They all helped but didn’t prevent the cross wind issues with trucks passing and towing (tail wagging the dog) and associated over-steer. Our RV fully loaded is about 12,000 pounds and has a rated capacity of 14,500 pounds. The SuperSteer track bar made a significant improvement in handling and steering stability as it keeps the rear axle in line. I should have installed this years ago. The suspension on the E-450 is horrible from the factory - it just can’t carry the consistent weight of a motorhome. The SuperSteer should be considered a key component to improved the handling of your E-450. No more white knuckle driving at freeway speeds. ... show more

  • Really Works
I have been fighting my Coachman Leprechaun on a Ford E450 chassis for two year. I first upgraded my steering stabilizer and that helped a little. The trac bar did the trick. I no long have the white knuckle issues when a truck is passing me in the wind or other wind related issues. The wind still blows the rig but it is controllable. Not the tail waging the dog. World of difference. Added front and rear sway bars and this and handles far superior to previous. Feel confident on windy roads in the big RV that used to feel ponderous and hard to control and can steer way more easily.

  • Worth every penny!
Helped a ton with rear movement on our 31 foot RV. It is very well built and all the hardware was included! You might as well get the rear sway bar since you have to unbolt most of it anyway. We didn’t but should have!

  • Wag wonder fix
After doing the best research I could find on the internet I ended up purchasing. What a fantastic buy, I was white knuckling my drive before wondering all over the road with tail wag. So much more stable now. Installation was mostly straight forward but I'm a mechanic by trade, no welding is why I bought it, why would I spend the time building and welding up something when someone else had already done it.
