earbuds broke in 6 weeks after daily daytime use. they do amplify sound but understandably they amplify ALL sounds especially the trucks going by. i use them everyday in place of my hearing aids. i would buy this type of sound amplifier again.

I got this for my father, after testing another superear product before, he has severe ear lost but also complains a lot about the plugs or earpieces from more "fancy" brands, the option here is that the battery is much more common and easy to change, and the headphones as long as using a jack you can choose any you will like, so overall I do recommend. However not all that good for phone usage, since you have to use a speaker, and as always being an amplifier, also noise comes into the mix. ... show more

Bought these for Dad as a gift. He did not like them. Did not cancel the noise around him. Sent them back for a better pair of headphones

Works to amplify sound in the proper conditions. Many times the sound has an echo but you can try to control that with the slider frequency switch on the side. The headphone and ear buds are not well made, like the kind you would buy at the dollar store. So use your own headphones or ear buds but beware of the impedance meaning some work better than others. Do they increase sound, yes, but do not expect miracles. Are they worth a bit over $100.00, that would be for you to decide but my vote is no. ... show more

    • Works better than hearing aids that cost 40X more $’s!
I bought the rechargeable amplifier for my elderly mother (97.5 years old). Mom was hospitalized and the hospital provided the amplifier because they did not want to be responsible for misplacing the hearing aids. Super Ear works far better than hearing aids that cost way more money and constantly need to be fine-tuned with the audiologist. My mother is stone deaf but with the amplifier she hears most everything, even from a bit of a distance and does not misunderstand words like she does with the hearing aids. The only downside is the wires. However, dealing with the wires is much easier than constantly having to repeat yourself because she cannot understand what is being said with the hearing aids. The charge lasts 40 hours and are easy to plug-in. It’s amazing how well mom hears and doesn’t miss a beat when she’s wearing the Super Ear. We highly recommend it to anyone who is a little hard of hearing and needs things tuned up a bit to catch what other are saying and not miss a beat. ... show more

Simple to use. Tho memory impaired may require assistance. Amplifies all sound. My mother found her own voice being amplified a bit annoying. But, it’s nice not to have to raise my voice all the time. She doesn’t like earbuds, so it’s was also nice that there was the headphone option. When I listened the sound quality was fair. There seemed to be white noise, which perhaps those hard of hearing wouldn’t notice? ... show more
