Love these lights! I bought them October 2023 and put each set on 2 separate trees. They have been up since then and the picture I just took is from April 25, 2024, 6 months later. They are nice and bright and I'm so pleased they are still working! I just ordered another set for my deck and hope they are as durable as these were. I bought a different brand the same time as these and the 2nd day I had them outside they got wet and stopped working. They were supposed to be waterproof. I bought that for Christmas but installed them in the backyard as dispersed lighting and they do a great job! They've been lighting up the backyard trees for months and haven't shown any signs of slowing down. They last from sundown until about 1 am daily with a well placed charger in the summer and until about 11:00 pm at Christmastime. Will be buying more for the front yard next year. I live in the Northeast so it's not always sunny outside in the winter. The lights last for a couple of hours depending on the day. The brightness is not strong but I personally find it cosier and nicer that way. When I first installed these lights, I set up a specific mode and never had to think or do anything again. The lights were working beautifully. Then, suddenly they stopped working. I kept going out in the evening to try to check them to see if I could get them to start working again, which they would not. I finally decided to look during the day only to find out that the wires had been cut due to vandalism.! I had started a return because I thought they just stopped working on their own. We put the month and year purchased on a piece of tape to the back of them........We have them wrapped around all our trees in our back yard.......it is beautiful at night. I bought 2 sets of these because they seemed like the perfect solution for my yard without running wires all over the place. I read through a bunch of the reviews, but most were positive so I figured why not, but these lights just didn't do it. First off, when they work, they're somewhat dim compared to regular LED lights that you'd buy at Home Depot. That's to be expected I guess, they're solar powered. That didn't even bother me much, because they still had an elegant look to them. But the reason I had to return them was mainly because they don't stay on long. I bought a few sets last month and I wrapped them around my trees in my front yard. They were great for the first day or 2, got lots of complements from the neighbors, but that's also because I had them charging in my backyard for weeks before setting them up so they stayed on all night. After a few days, they couldn't stay on at night for longer than about 4 hours. Now they won't stay on longer than 1.5 hours after charging all day long and it's been a few weeks now. These things can't last through the night. Reading through some of the other reviews, I saw that we could put in a higher Ah battery, so I did that too. No dice. The batteries worked fine, but the solar panel on the string of lights isn't powerful enough to charge up higher capacity batteries, so I basically got the same results. ... show more
