  • Terrific
Size: 2- 2ft x 20ft with diverter kit and roof kit Color: Roof-Mounted
This solar heater is awesome. Easy to install and run pvc pipe. Mounted it on the garage roof, which was nearby. Chicago weather is cool, so expectations were not high. Started circulating water the end of April, water temp at 56 deg. In 5 days the temp was at 71 and 7 days later it's in the low 80s. Checked today air temp 76 and pool temp is 86. Had to throttle it back some as the water temp coming from solar panels exceeded 120 deg. Very satisfied with product. ... show more

  • Excellent Customer Service
Size: 2- 2ft x 20ft with diverter kit and roof kit Color: Roof-Mounted
The solar panels are easy to install but keep in mind it all depends on the location. I set up 2 panels on my pavers next to the pool in late August, New York. They did heat up the water as promised and we were pleasantly surprised for only 2 panels. One panel had a pin-hole leak that was squirting water so I contacted the vendor sent a video and they sent out a new solar panel a few days later. Our pool season is practically over but I will be buying 2 more solar panels this off season then running all the piping to our roof. With 4 panels our pool should be much warmer. Hoping out pool season will start in May next year! ... show more

  • It actually works nicely
Size: 1- ft x 20ft with roof kit Color: Roof-Mounted
I live in NE Ohio where the weather is unpredictable every day.... It was a horrible summer so far due to the fires in Canada which brought in tons of clouds every day so sun was sparce. I have one 2/20 solar heater and a nice solar cover for the pool to keep the heat in at night. I'm excited to say that I've been able to reach 90° plus many of times with the solar panel mounted on my garage roof that is very close to my pool. Install by yourself on a roof is a bit tricky so my advise is two people are better than just yourself. I have a 12/20 4' oval pool. I'm very happy with this... Hope it works the same next year after our winter weather lays on it. ... show more

  • Not Worth the Money
Size: 2- 2ft x 10ft Color: On Ground
This product does not work unless you buy multiple panels. This is not in the product description. I would not recommend this product. I purchased a set of 2 heater panels for our above ground 24x12 BestWay pool. After turning on the pump, the heater works for about 30 seconds before the water runs cold again. There was no change in pool temperature after a week of running the heater. I contacted the company which told me I needed a minimum of 6 panels and a larger pump. Purchasing these items would cost more than the pool was worth. I had no interest in spending more money. After requesting a return, the company charges a shipping and restocking fee (about 40%). Now I am out $120. This was a waste of money and do not recommend this product to anyone unless you have a ton of money to spend and a significant amount of space just to heat a pool by 10 degrees. ... show more

  • Adds warmth to your pool
Size: 2- 2ft x 10ft Color: On Ground
This works. No, not as powerful as a gas or electric heater, but uses free energy from the sun. I added a $60 solar fountain submersible pump to power this without having to run my main filter all day. I love going out and feeling the hot water pumping in from the panels. Requires a little ingenuity to put the fittings together to connect this to the fountain pump, but I’m very pleased. ... show more

  • Decent economy kit
Size: 2- 2ft x 20ft with roof kit Color: Roof-Mounted
Hard to rate a product but I say like 3 to 4 stars on the kit I ordered. The base kit used for an above ground pool would receive 5 stars from me. You can use all the supplied connectors and i can see nothing leaking. Just roll the mat out on a sunny day and it will flatten. connect it up to a flexible 1-1/2" flexible hose and your done. The problems start when you start mounting it more permanent like to a roof (I bought the complete kit with roof mounts/strapping). The instructions say to mount at certain measurements and that's just not correct. You must find the roof studs and lag bolt directly into them. It's almost common sense. You locate the stud, pre-drill, inject some roofing sealant into the hole and bolt it down. All your doing is just lag bolting a plastic coated metal strap on the roof. No leak proof mounts or anything like that you would see in a more expensive kit. I feel like for the cost, they should included a little plastic mount that will grab and allow sealant to be used more effectively. what can a couple dozen little plastic pieces cost? Make the kit another 50 bucks more expensive and give the customer a feel good install. This would also allow for removal in the winter. The way their install is, it's permanent. I also put a dab of sealant on top and spread the sealant all around the bolt head. On completion you realize you have just made dozens of holes in your roof that you hope won't leak. Piping is next. Your going to want to use standard PVC. The threaded PVC connector from home depot do not mate up well with the kits threading. The kits threading is off spec. You can get it to not leak but it's nerve wrecking putting the correct amount of thread tape on and not over tightening the connection breaking the already mounted plastic solar panel. It's a fine line. Other then that, 3 PVC valves and some standard schedule 40 PVC piping and your done. Oh and don't do any PVC glueing until after you have the panels mounted and the threaded in PVC connects have been on a warm roof for 3 to 4 hours. the black solar panel will warm and the PVC connector will need to be threaded in a little further due to heat expansion. Instantly when you turn it on, you can feel the warmth. It's ranged about 2-8 degrees warmer and I'm slightly undersized at 4 panels for a 16'x32' pool. If you don't go with an automated valve, your going to want to bypass the system at night turning the 3 valves otherwise the pool will cool its self after dusk. All and all, it's worth the money. I was installing it on an exterior stand alone garage that doesn't get heated over the winter. I can see the panels leaking every now and then, and lasting 5 years or so, but time will tell. for less then a 1/4 of the cost over name brand panels, i'll roll the dice. If I was to do this again, especially on my home, I would have waited till I sourced some little mount pieces for the strapping. The way the kit wants you to mount seems like a leak waiting to happen. ... show more
