    • Nice cabinet, easy to move, a little over priced.
Pattern Name: Resin Cabinet
I bought this for misc. storage in my garage; paint cans, cleaners, etc. I have a Suncast small outdoor shed and really liked the ease of assembly and solid feel. So I thought I would give the cabinet a try. -Packaging. Well packaged in somewhat large flat box. A bit heavy for one guy, but I managed to drag it into the garage from where UPS dropped it off. Easy to open box and easy to identify parts. -Assembly. Instructions are pretty clear. Would be easier to assembly for two people. Total time was about an hour. I did have to use a rubber mallet to save my palm when putting on the top panel. That was a tough one to slide on because it has a protruding lip on the back that needs to clear the back and fit in, so it kept raising up in the back as it was sliding forward. Shelves: You have to fasten a metal bar to each shelf with four screws per shelf. Do this by hand or set your torque to "1" on your power drill. Screws are just going into plastic. Shelves where a little difficult to put in correctly. I noticed that the sides did not snap in upon the initial assembly and I had to give them a bit of a rap to get them to fit properly into the grooves. Doors: The red latches are a bit tough to install. Once you snap in the housing, you need to insert the slider thing, then snap the slider thing in. I had to use a flat metal bar to press it in hard enough to get it to snap. It does come with two anchor bolts so you can mount the unit to a wall to avoid tipping over but I did not install these (I am renting the place, so trying not to put too many holes in the walls.) -Overall Fit. Not quite as tight as I would have hoped. There are some small gaps in the top but should not be too much of a problem. -Advantages. Lightweight of course. Easy to move compared to steel or wood cabinet. -Value. I think it is a little over-priced. It sure looks nice in the garage, but hey, its blow mold. Should it really cost over $300? If you want a nice clean looking cabinet that is easy to move (when empty) this is a pretty good solution. I will see how it does with keeping out sawdust etc. in the garage. I think moisture on the floor will not be a problem since the cabinet floor is high enough to keep about an inch of water out. ... show more
