  • BIOCHEMIST TESTED: NOT CINNAMON OIL - FAKE - MAY BE POISONOUS...
Scent: Cinnamon
I purchased Sun Essential Oils because the product claimed to be (1) pure; and (2) 4 fluid ouces for $14.99. This is a great price for real cinnamon bark oil. I did not care if the oil was 'Cinnamon Verum' oil (from Ceylon Cinnaman) or 'Cinnamon Cassia' oil (which is cheaper and is very commonly sold as real cinimon in the US; but cannot be sold as such in Europe). Pure, pharmaceutical grade, cinnamon bark oil, of either of the above varieties, will have an explosive, very hot cinnamon taste. I have tasted pharmaceutical grade cinnamon oil many times. This is NOT CINNAMON OIL. I had the Sun Essential Oils Cinnamon Bark tested by a relative, a biochemist. She said that the bottle contained 98% or 99% inert vegetable oil with a cheap cinnamon flavoring making up the balance. Anyone purchasing it for the health benefits of coumarin, which is always found in both Ceylon and Cassia cinnamon bark oil, should be advised that there is no coumarin in this product. THIS PRODUCT IS NOT REAL; IT COULD IN FACT BE POISONIOUS. I am sorry to have to use such strong language but the public should be warned. I have purchased many products from Amazon Prime and never before given a negative review. ... show more

  • Rancid Vegetable Oil
Scent: Cinnamon
I could smell the awful rancidity even before I opened the lid. After I opened it to smell, I almost puked from the rancid odor it was putting off. After I regained my stomach composure, I tried to taste it like I always do (1/2 drop on my knuckle and touch my tongue to it) and detected only a pale taste of ground cinnamon. Any good cinnamon oil will have a shocking, hot sensation along with a red-hot taste - not this stuff. Gonna ask for a refund today, but I doubt I'll get any relief from the manufacture. Will update if they can correct this situation. ... show more

  • Works for my purpose as bug deterrent
Scent: Cinnamon
I had read that cinnamon works as a natural deterrent for the little bugs and the ants that seem to get into the windows and end up in the bathrooms in north Texas. To test the theory I created a solution with the cinnamon plus peppermint oil and water and sprayed the perimeter of the windows (inside) and the ants and bugs died and stop coming. I am using it on other ant problem areas and so far so good. Helps that the cinnamon smells good so you get the benefits plus have a nice smelling bathroom without using chemical pesticides.. ... show more

  • Works to confuse ants and as a bonus home freshener
Scent: Cinnamon
We have a problem with ants coming in the house in the springtime. I can’t use traditional poisons because my little one will figure out a way to ingest it. We mixed the cinnamon oil with warm water and poured it on a towel (something you never plan to use on your body). We then put that towel under the door as you would for draft protection. The smell of cinnamon messes with the ants sense of smell and they cannot follow the trail of those that came before them. So, once we got rid of the ants that were already inside (with a peppermint spray) no new ants have come in thanks to the cinnamon oil. The scent lasts for about 2 weeks. It’s been a month and we haven’t seen any new ants coming from the door area. As a bonus, your house smells cinnamon fresh everyday. ... show more

  • Decent Cinnamon Oil
Scent: Cinnamon
I'm using this for a rather unconventional reason - mixing it with Fluid Film (sheep's' wool oil) that will be sprayed on the underside of my Toyota Tacoma. Mostly so the Fluid Film doesn't make my truck smell like Fluid Film for a week. Cinnamon Taco!

  • 5 Stars for Customer Service but (read on)
Scent: Cinnamon
Updated Review: Customer service is not dead It seems the vendor reads reviews which I find a nice change in how customer service is handled. They contacted me after this review and asked if they could replace the item I bought to see if the issues I was having were based on a bad bottle of Oil. I was so busy I never got back to them and today a new bottle just showed up. I think overall essential oils and their smells are different for every person and this one for me is probably not my cup of tea (or bark). That said I give this company 5 stars for support and customer service. Original Review: 2 Stars Honestly smells more like bark as in that found on a playground than cinnamon. ... show more

  • Great Ant-repellant!
Scent: Cinnamon
Bought this for creating a boundary to keep out small house ants (the kind that no other toxin-free products and sprays work on). Works perfectly! The smell (a sweeter cinnamon) is very strong when using it for this purpose, but disappates after a few hours. Even after the smell fades, the ant-repellant factor remains. So if you're struggling with small house ants and don't want to waste money on other methods that don't work, this cinnamon oil is perfect and priced fairly. ... show more

  • Works
Scent: Cinnamon
I actually bought this because I found out the smell of cinnamon keeps snakes away! so far so good. I was getting small Brahminy blind snakes coming into my garage through the corners. researched ways to detour them and found that cinnamon essence is one of the ways. This so far has worked!
