Chunkier than Scotts orchid mix but it would be great for beginners who might tend to over water. I usually use 3-4 oz once a week for my 5 in pots with the Scotts orchid mix. I am experimenting with this, it seems to dry out a bit faster but that should not be a problem if I have to adjust the watering schedule. . ... show more

I make my own pot soil and used this for my tropical plants. The only problem was some of the thin pieces got soggy/ flimsy after being in the soil. I had to repot and make sure these pieces weren’t in my plants soil. Wasn’t a lot but didn’t want it to cause a problem. Would buy again. I’ll just pull out the pieces that look sketchy next time.
