Features

  • JAPANESE STYLE PULL SAW: This flexible saw is a Pull Saw. Most people are used to European saws, called push saws, which cuts through a pushing motion. On the other hand, Japanese hand saws cut materials via pulling and are called pull saws. In comparison to push saws, this Japanese product is lighter in weight, requires less power, and results in a cleaner edge.
  • JAPANESE STEEL: All SUIZAN Japanese saws consist of top quality Japanese steel. The high-quality steel makes razor sharp cuts.
  • MADE IN JAPAN: All SUIZAN woodworking tools are manufactured in Japan by Japanese master craftsmen. The whole process of making these tools are completed in one of Japans towns known for its craft-making tradition with a history of over 100 years.
  • BLADE FOR HARDWOOD AND SOFTWOOD: With this small hand saw, you can easily cut oak, sandalwood, ebony, mahogany, maple, walnut and pine with a robust blade for hardwood. The blade for softwood can be used for white cedar, Japanese cedar, larch, paulownia wood and many others.
  • For Rip & Cross Cut, Blade Length: 6"(150mm), Blade Thickness: 0.016"(0.4mm), TPI: H:17(1.5mm) S:20(1.25mm), Kerf Width: 0.02"(0.55mm), Overall Length: 12.4"(31.5cm)

  • An amazing saw at a great price.
Size: Folding 9.5 Inch (240mm) Style: Folding 9.5 Inch (240mm) Body
I bought this saw several months ago thinking it was an affordable way to try out the Japanese approach to fine cut saws. I've been thoroughly impressed with the design and performance of the saw, I just wish I'd known about them decades ago. The basic concept of the pull cut saw means that since the blade is under tension when pulled through the wood, the blade can be made thinner, allowing for the thinner kerf. For me personally, the pull cut allows me to be more accurate in my cuts and the folding design means I can safely store the saw just about anywhere. Add to that, this has rip cut and cross cut edges on the same saw so it takes the place of two tools and saves storage space. If all of that isn't enough, replacement blades are available at an affordable price should the need arise (I've considered ordering one to have on hand just in case but haven't gotten around to it yet). I'd really like to get the folding Dozuki offered by Suizan but so far this Ryoba has proven more than capable of everything I've needed in a fine cut hand saw. If you're considering adding one of the Suizan saws to your collection I highly recommend this company's products, their attention to detail and product quality is second to none and their prices are very reasonable for what they deliver. ... show more

  • Excellent! Especially for left handed woodcrafters
Size: 7 Inch (180mm) Style: 7 Inch (180mm) Body
This is the best addition to my worshop in years and I’m going to slowly buy the rest of the pull saws in the collection. The weight, balance and quality are excellent and the blade is unbelievably sharp with a very thin kerf. As a lefthanded guy, this is the easiest handsaw I’ve ever used. People are probably scratching their heads on that but here’s why. Right handers draw lines away from the body and lefties draw lines toward the body. I have always hated handsaws because pushing away straight, even with my right hand isn’t a natural action and I bind it because I naturally put weight on the pull. Today I made 10 perfectly accurate cuts completely effortlessly with my Suizan pull saw right out of the very nice packaging. This blade is completely worth the price for the quality. It’s also very nice looking. I so wish I would have bought one years ago. ... show more

  • Great tool to have

Cuts very well and precisely. Works great at what it's made for.

  • Work like it should and good price
Size: 8 Inch (210mm) Style: 8 Inch (210mm) Body
I’ve owned a number of pull saws and this is a good one. It’s firm enough that it won’t bend while cutting but still thin enough to make a nice narrow cut. I mainly use it to cutoff the last bit of wood on a bowl tenon so it’s light work but requires sharpness and a little rigidity, it’s perfect for my application. ... show more

  • Nice quality saw, wish is had a real blade cover
Size: 7 Inch (180mm) Style: 7 Inch (180mm) Body
Good quality flexible steel double edged Japanese saw for trim, dovetailing and close quarter work. It’s very sharp with fine and coarse sides, it cuts well even in tough wood like walnut and maple and is a precise tool. I do site work on various projects and I need to carry this saw around with me in a well organized tool bag. The low point for me with this saw is the cheesy plastic guard that broke in a few weeks in my tool bag. If the manufacturer doesn’t want to supply a real blade guard with the saw, at least make one available for separate purchase. ... show more

  • love this saw
Size: 6 Inch (150mm) Style: 6 Inch (150mm) Body
I needed a smaller, lightweight saw that I can use with my arthritic hands. This is it, so easy to use and cuts are easy to control. Smooth action without having to apply a lot of pressure. Cut through 1x4 pressure treated lumber easily.

  • I love this saw
Size: 7 Inch (180mm) Style: 7 Inch (180mm) Body
This is a great saw. I use it for cutting off dowel plugs and recently it was the best solution for coping MDF crown moulding along with a grinder/flapdisk. Jigsaw blades would just gum up with the wood fibers. Many of the negative reviews are people that don't understand this is a PULL saw. They complain it bent the first time they used. it. You CANNOT bend this if you use it correctly. The force is on the pull, not the push. Second, many complain that the blade rusts. The saw says "made in Japan", so I'm thinking this is good quality steel (seems like it). It's probably good to protect it with wax or something similar. People tend to be used to stainless steel, etc., which won't rust but also won't hold its sharpness. Finally, many 1 star reviews are people complaining it isn't good on tree branches. It's not made for that use and those people should be stared at with deep contempt, while shaking your head and kicking dirt in their general direction. Overall, this saw is a pleasure to use. I've only used the less aggressive side, and can still cut through a 2x4 (accurately) in about 5 strokes. I'm probably going to buy more and give as gifts at Christmas. This sounds like a paid review, but I assure you it is not. See my other reviews. ... show more
