This is by far my favorite gardening tool. It cuts through soil like it's warm butter. It makes weeding beds an easy chore. The cutting blade is wicked sharp which is why it cuts so easily. The wood handle is smooth and secured solidly. Great value for money. I highly recommend.

This works as a hoe and a sickle. It's sharpe enough to be effective. The metal quality seems good. The handle feels durable and comfortable. This makes quick work of weeds. It's a bit more expensive than the cheap Chinese gardening tools, but it's not crazy expensive. You get what you pay for. This is some very good quality Japanese craftsmanship in tools. Once I got the hang of using this weeding tool it became a total game changer. The blade is sharp and hefty enough to really cut through stubborn roots. The weeding sickle is very sharp but light weight so it's easy to use when weeking the unwanted plants or weeds in the garden. It cuts well on the grass weeds and even some small plants, I chopped the wild holyhock plant with diameter about 3/4 inch with no problem, it might work with a litle bit bigger plants but I recommend just use it on weed and small plants under 1 inch for its design purpose. The curve blade is perfect for cutting grass in a small area (like in the flower bed or when you want to clear grass/weed around the flowers), you can grab a bundle of grass in the left hand and use the sickle on right hand to slice the grass. Price is reasonable, the blade has a thick plastic cover with a grommet for hanging, after each use I clean the garden tool and store it in the tool box. This Japanese weeking sickle is one of my favorite garden tool, it's useful and handy for gardening, I like it a lot. ... show more

    • Super sharp and it works very well.
It has been me vs. trumpeter vines all summer. They are very invasive where I live. They get into electrical lines, wood structures and take over the yard if not dealt with. I don't like spraying something strong enough to actually kill the things since it will also kill what I don't want killed. So I chop them down by hand. It's a chore with all my tools. I'd never tried a Japanese sickle so I said what the heck let's give it a go. I am so glad I did. The sickle chopped through the vines with ease. The handle is really nice with a good finish on it. The added rivet for the head makes me feel like the tool will hold together well and last a long time. The blade itself is really sharp and the metal is thick enough that if the tool does dull I can resharpen it multiple times. The sickle did great chopping up the roots of the vines as well. I'm very happy with the tool and have no qualms about giving this Japanese sickle a yes. ... show more

I love Japanese garden tools, and this one is a great example of Japanese quality even at a budget price. The blade is sharp so definitely give it some respect. It comes well oiled and has a little soft plastic sheath to help keep the blade covered. But upgrading to a stronger more permanent sheath is probably advisable. I’m excited to try this baby out at my landscaping job this week. I’ll check back with my results. ... show more
