Very nice string lights, but note these are a slightly different style the your classic "bistro" style lights as the bulbs are directly on the string, they do not hang down on a short wire like most of these types of string lights. Also, these use the smaller "candelabra" light bulb base, not the standard light bulb size. As compared to my other string light sets, which are typical "bistro" style, these a less yellow and more white, but still a pleasant soft white. However, these loose one star because of the design. Since the sockets and bulbs are directly on the wire and not hanging down a few inches, the bulbs do not hang down straight and instead skew slightly one way or the other when you hang this string from point-to-point. If you are attaching the whole string to something (Christmas lights style) the that would not matter and you would not want the extra length on each socket and bulb. But if you want to hang point-to-point you will not get the well-aligned bulbs you get with other styles. ... show more

DESCRIPTION: This is a 50' set of string lights, with 25 lights spaced at 2 foot intervals. Two spare bulbs are included. ———————— ASSEMBLY: The light sockets have built-in snap clips and are designed to hang from a messenger wire. I have a 1/16" messenger wire already installed around my fire pit. (This is available from your home improvement store, it is called 1/16" wire rope). Please note it is winter at this time, and I am unable to install these until spring; so this review is based only on an inspection and test lighting. ———————— PLUS: The light is white color, all lights worked, and provides a soft, even illumination. The socket is designed so that when suspended using the clips, the base of the bulb is up, which helps keep rain water out of the socket. The bulbs are plastic, not glass, and unbreakable. The string has a female power socket at the end so additional sets can be daisy-chained. The instruction sheet notes they are dimmable. ———————— MINUS: There is no other provision for hanging. (My previous set has a tab and hole on each light, to allow fastening using zip-ties). ———————— HOW I USED IT: I am using these around the perimeter of my 50' fire pit area (which is 10x15). These lights are really nice and bright! I had actual glass edison bulbs on my sunporch and they break and the filament goes out often. With these they're LED and have plastic shells so they are much less fragile which is a great thing. A couple of additional bonuses- each bulb has an attached hanging loop so they can be hung quickly and easily AND you have several feet (8ish) of cord of without bulbs so you can get them where you want them without having bulbs in weird places. ... show more
