The first thing didn't like about this product is assembly is very tough . The spanners you will receive with this is not enough and you have should have your own good spanner to proper assemble it . Instructions are not correct and you need to use your brain . Even one missing nut and bolt and you are gone . ... show more

I'd give me it 5 stars if the handle was longer. I'm over 6ft and with the shortness of it made maneuverability lacking. Hard dry soil it doesn't penetrate that much. Didn't matter how much weight I had on it

Pain in the butt to put together. The wrenches that came with it didn’t work on the smaller nuts and bolts. The tines penetrate into the ground half an inch, not 2” and it’s already difficult to push. Waste of money

My Suchtale Heavy Duty Rotary Spike Lawn Aerator let me prepare an area of lawn for seeding in twenty minutes. The tines are so sharp I didn't even have to add weight, but I would probably do so for aerating thatched turf. Assembly was straightforward and took me about an hour, working slowly. The finished product is very sturdy and quite heavy, as this is made from strong steel. The positioning of the wheels makes it easy for me to transport the aerator by just flipping it over (with any added weights removed) and rolling it as needed. I'm delighted with this addition to my toolshed and will use it regularly. ... show more

    • Be prepared for a workout
This spike aerator is reasonably successful at creating a lot of small holes in the ground, but it can be a real chore to push around if your soil conditions aren't ideal. For my compacted lawn, adding weight on top was a must, and it helped to water first to soften things up. The result isn't comparable to a plug aerator, but that's no surprise given the difference in cost. Assembling the unit is fairly straightforward, but the included wrenches are thin and tend to slip off, making the process take longer than necessary. The manufacturer really should have used flange nuts/bolts to make it easier. On a positive note, everything feels very solid and sturdy once put together. Overall, I'd give this a four-star rating. It gets the job done, within the limits of what a spike aerator can realistically be expected to accomplish. ... show more
