Description

Brazilian pennywort can be found growing in the wetlands and marshes of South America. It is characterized by its half-dollar like leaves which can grow into compact bushes of green. This plant is versatile and can be used in the foreground, midground or background. It is undemanding and grows fast, often out-competing and overgrowing the tank if left untrimmed. By frequently trimming new growth and using high light with CO2, the plant can stay low growing and create a carpeting effect over the foreground.

I’m disappointed for sure. I read the reviews and thought it was so pretty I wanted to try it anyway. I read all up on it, spread it across 4 different tanks just to rule out water issues, not a single stalk had any roots to make it. Five bundles and not one stalk- so disappointed. Definitely flushed cash down the drain on this one. How do you return it when it’s just a mess? These things lost almost all their leaves the second I put them in the water. Just don’t do it. It didn’t come with any water. It came with a sponge, but it was already dry, so it was kinda most of the leaves and stems were already broken off, but I stuck it in my tank and fed it and it’s starting to grow really well.

Zero complaints with these guys previously. My preferred go-to for most things tbh. Was really hoping the reviews were just unseasoned hobbyists having a bad time of it and blaming the product. Ordered 3 batches and they were all pretty beat up. Most of the stems were broken several times over. If they weren't they were cut right by a junction requiring an automatic stem cutting anyway. Lots of dying algae slimed leaves, those that weren't were thin and decaying. After all the trimming and cleaning to see what could be saved I think tallest stems I planted were around 3 inches tall and the most potentially functional leaves still on a stem was 4. Doesn’t look a lot like the picture. Shipping was fast and the other plant of a different variety and previous orders have been great. My plant is in pretty rough shape and had quite a bit of dead stuff to remove. Looking better now that it’s been in the water awhile. We’ll see how it does after a bit. ... show more

The plants did add vibrant color to my aquarium, but this batch arrived with snail eggs. I do know that this is a risk when purchasing live aquarium plants, but it was still disappointing to see. I purchased some loaches to take care of the snails, and we will see how that turns out.

I really want to support vendors who deal in live aquatic plants- desperately needed in the hobby. Received my order today for this plant. Looked healthy prior to opening. However, after which before planting, there was so little root base that the plant separated as if cut flowers. I have planted it but don’t have much hope. If the vendor is reading this, I don’t want a refund. However, if you could send a replacement with a better more established root base, we would appreciate it. ... show more
