  • My Granddad Loves It
Color: Teal
Ordered for my 94 year old grandpa who loves to listen to music while he shaves and gets dressed. The old radio that I purchase was a few years old and had taken a beating. So when I noticed it was time for a new one I came to Amazon to find something moderately priced. I also emailed the vendor before hand and they were very nice, quick responding, answered my questions, and were just excited as me to see my granddad get this new toy. Radio arrived quickly as described. It's a space saver on my grandparents bathroom counter compared to the previous radio. Sounds AWESOME and my favorite is the old time style which is the main reason why I picked it. Also can be plugged up which is great because I don't want my grandparents worried about batteries. I choose the teal looking color. It's a lot brighter out of the box. Which I personally thinks looks better than the color advertised. Hey it's got an AUX port too! Maybe I should have purchased one for myself? LOL ... show more

  • Adorable Radio
Love love the look of this radio. I've used it daily for weeks now. My only complaint is that the handles to control the functions are so smooth it's tough to hit that perfect spot on the dial to get perfect reception. i would however buy this again.

  • So happy - I bought 2!
Color: Teal
I love this radio so much I bought another one after the teal arrived!! It's small which makes it easily portable with the handle - you can use (4) C batteries or plug it in (a feature I really like is that the cord folds up into the back of the radio if you want to hide it while using the battery feature. I get alot of stations - the dial is very easily marked for AM & FM and the on/off knob is also the volume so you have two knobs, that's it. The AM/FM switch is on the side. The sound is also good. I believe there is a headphone jack on the side. The teal is really pretty and unique, and I also have the black/gold which is also nice looking. I really couldn't be happier with this radio - it's exactly what I wanted (a bathroom radio for morning news and a desk radio - nothing fancy - for background noise at work). If you are looking for a simple, good looking and not bulky radio, this is absolutely perfect! ... show more

  • It does everything but pick up a signal
Color: Teal
This is the worst radio I have ever used. I didn't think making simple tuner was hard, or something only trusted brands could reliably do because simple portable radios are dirt cheap and unbreakable. Those were all old portable radios. This thing doesn't even tune to a station and play it. If you manage to jimmy it into picking up a signal at all, the real volume limit is 5 even though the knob turns up to 10. The radio can't handle being TURNED UP past half way before breaking completely and playing static. It's a bit expensive for a non-functioning replica of an old-timey radio, but that's what you're buying. It feels cheap to the touch and ramming the batteries in was a struggle, and thus should be admired from a distance. They don't make them like they used to. ... show more

  • Functional Little Radio
Color: Red
This is a nice little radio. Takes C batteries or can be plugged in. I especially like that the cord is not separate but can be folded up and tucked inside the battery cover.

  • Beautiful chassis design, but CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP guts. Low Quality CHINA garbage.
It's a radio. It's VERY inexpensively made. It's electronic design is based on an AM-FM chip that gets programmed at every turn-on by a chip containing a small amount of ram filled with settings (which control the specs for tuning properly in the country it's destined for use). Then, there is an amplifier chip, then finally a power regulator chip. Cheaply made. My "Black" radio is actually Brown. Here are some internal pictures for people who like to know what is inside. This is not an am-fm radio made the way we used to make them, with detector stages, IF stages, etc. Those were true, tuning, superhet radios. Like the ones we used to all use in the 70s through the early 90s. This is a computer programmed, all-in-one chip radio with a clever and pretty cool looking chassis. The speaker is the tiniest and cheapest they could find. It's MUCH smaller than the "grille" you see on the exterior of the radio. Some may want to buy the radio to gut, and put in nicer electronics.. bigger speaker, bluetooth interface, etc. That's what I'll be doing. Here are the internal pictures. ... show more

  • Rubbish! Really Sketchy
The media could not be loaded. Super cute! Very visually pleasing. BUT.... and a very BIG BUTTTTT.... This darn thing doesn't work as it should! Super disappointed as this was supposed to be a gift for my elderly father. First off, the power on option is super faulty. Out of 10+ times of turning the volume knob on and off, it's only actually powered on TWICE! And those 2 times it did turn on, there's just static on both AM and FM. I can't catch any stations! Also, there's something loose in it. I can hear it rattling around. Which brings me to the packaging. Very poor packaging for an electronic device. Very little protection. The box was a bit beaten up so that would explain the loose piece rattling. I'm super disappointed! Not waiting for a new one to be sent. Refund please! Absolutely do not recommend unless you don't mind taking a chance of getting the short stick. ... show more

  • Doesn't pick up stations very well...
Radio looks great, gold is not as good as the picture...very hard to tune into radio stations and when it finally catches one, as soon as you walk away it gets fuzzy. :/ I got it for my pets when I'm at work but I don't trust it enough to leave it on for fear they have static all day. Boo
