I have a nylon-string classical guitar and a Peavey EVH Wolfgang electric guitar, so I ordered two of these to hang them up on my wall. They're well made, the wood finish is nice, and they come with all you need to mount them. You don't even need a drill. The screws themselves can just be pushed and screwed into the wall, even if you're screwing into a stud. The idea is that you screw the screw in, and if you don't feel it biting into wood after half an inch or so, you pretty much know you need to remove the screw and use one of the drywall anchor plugs that come with this unit. The plugs have a pilot 'bayonet' which you tap into the hole left by the screw with a hammer or something (not that much force is required though), then use a philips head screwdriver to screw in the anchor plug. My first bracket required one drywall anchor because I missed the stud (I don't have any kind of electronic stud-finder, so I was limited to just knocking all over the wall to figure out stud location). It worked fine with the drywall anchor. The second bracket I was smarter and found a vertical stud. Both guitar brackets mounted really solidly and give me a lot of confidence that they'll hold up well. For the classical guitar, the neck did fit the bracket but it was a bit too tight a fit to easily hang/remove the guitar, so I bruteforced the arms open about 1/8th of an inch, and that really did the trick, the guitar is securely hung but I can easily lift and remove it from the hooks without undue rubbing on the neck. Overall, my room looks fantastic with these guitars hung on the wall, I love the way it hangs the guitars out from the wall slightly - my electric guitar is about 3" off the wall, and the classical having a hollow body is about 2.3" away from the wall, which prevents any kind of rubbing against the wall. I can't fault these brackets at all, they were cost-effective and the wood block looks good, and I loved the way the included fixtures didn't require any drilling. I have always been told by serious guitarists that you do not want to use these for guitars because they can jack up the neck and sound of your guitar, and possibly cause cracking in the neck, because of the weight of the guitar. But i suppose it could just be myth! Anyway, i only use these for my Ukulele's, and of course they weigh like nothing, so they have worked great! The gap between them is made for a guitar, so it would not hold my Ukulele by itself, but it includes large fubber "washers" that you slife over the prongs so that the Uke rests behind the wider point, and if workse perfectly. I have purchassed a few of these, and the all look great and have all lasted years. (still havent had one break) UPDATE: Ok so i reviewed this one a bit prematurely, and while i still agree with my review above, i am a little disappointed, because there is one detail of the product which i have listed in my review above that turned out to be not correct. So i reviewed the item before actually getting it because i had taken care to order specifically the one that looked identical to the ones i already own, and while the product page stated that the stains may be different, i wanted to insure that i ordered the one that had the large rubber "washers" shown in the picture, and unfortunately what i got was one of the other "string swing" brand mounts that does not include the washers, now with the ones i currently have my Ukuleles will not fit in them because the neck and head are too skinny, but the redeeming grace of this one i got is that the prongs are closer together, so my instruments will actually fit in there without any issue, so that is why i have not taken my review rating down, but i may have to make a note of it to the seller. One other difference is that the one listed in the pictures also came with 3 different wall spacer sizes (the piece that connects the prongs to the wooden block) and this one only comes with what was the longer of the 3 sizes that mine came with. Unfortunately i had thrown out the other sizes and only used the medium one, so really my biggest gripe is that this one looks different amongst all of my mounts, and the Uke on this one hangs farther away from the wall. As a note, the one that i did get was also another option on the same sellers inventory, but again, i specifically chose this one for uniformity. ... show more
