Installation was a bit difficult since you need to know how to use a drill, but they have been extremely sturdy and reliable after installation. It seems strong enough for guitars, acoustic or electric. However not so sure about a heavy solid body electric bass. When I put my bass on there I could see the little arm bend a little bit. These mounts work great. They were super easy to install, I used a 3/16 drill bit to make the holes and then installed the hardware. Seems to be very sturdy.

When it comes to our expensive toys, Guitar players want a couple things in a wall mount but the number one thing is, it has to be strong and reliable so we never have to worry about the thing falling off the wall and our most precious instruments crashing to the floor. This is the one. I have like 6 or something. I took the bulky fancy, self closing ones down and went back to basics. They compliment the guitars too.
