    • Great little screwdriver for electronics repair

Anyone who works on small electronic devices knows that having to remove and replace dozens of tiny screws is inevitable. Normally, I've used jeweler grip screwdrivers for these, but even those get very tedious. This screwdriver is an absolute game changer. It brings everything that's good about a power screwdriver down to the miniature scale for working with small precision screws, and greatly speeds up disassembly of small devices. For its size, it has an impressive amount of torque. But, for really stubborn screws, when none of the drive buttons are being pressed, the screwdriver can be used as a normal manual screwdriver just to break a screw free, and then the motor can be engaged to back the screw all the way out. Battery life is great. I've used it for about a half dozen projects so far, and the battery still has not needed to be recharged. The ergonomics of the buttons are a bit weird to get used to when you're used to the "gun" shape with a trigger on most other powered drill/drivers, but given the size of the screwdriver itself, I'm not sure that it would really be possible to do much differently with the control layout. The only thing that is a bit of a bummer is storage of the tool. I definitely would have preferred to see the tool in a dedicated plastic case, as the cardboard box it shipped in is less than ideal as a permanent storage solution to keep everything together. ... show more

Well made. A large selection of accessories is included. I appreciate the light and the case design doesn’t roll when you put it down. It expedited the process of assembly / disassembly when working on electronics or any item with small fasteners. It lives in my tool box next to my iFixIt kit.

I've used electric screwdrivers for big screws before, but never something this small, but now that I've used this I may never go back. For coming with so many components, this is actually a super simple kit with a screwdriving unit, 30 heads of multiple shapes and sizes, a USB-A to USB-C cable (the screwdriver has USB-C, but power just keeps coming on USB-A ports), and even a couple of prying tools, a magnetic mat, and a magnetizer/demagnetizer that works surprisingly well. The torque I get from the driving unit is surprising. Occasionally I'll find a screw that's so tight when I hit the button to turn it out, the whole unit gets pulled in my hand. But with a firm grip and a little twist, every screw comes loose and then the driver does all the work, pulling the screw out or pushing it in. There's an in and an out button and they're instinctively laid out with the out button up top and the in button below. There's also a light button that turns on an LED at the end provides just enough light to see the screw. I've charged this up once and so far it's lasted a month without needing a refill, though I'm sure if I used it more often it would need more charging. Still, it doesn't take long to charge up on its USB-C port. The magnetizer really surprises me with how quickly and easily a little brush of the screw head in the central portion magnetizes the tip, and a little brush on the outer top takes away the magnetism. No idea how it works, but it works great. This is a super useful tool on the workbench and makes all the little twisting jobs of tiny electronics super easy. ... show more

I originally got this so I could carefully dismantle a laptop keyboard and fix a piece underneath the mousepad. This set has a good range of tiny screw head attachments, 30 precision bits to be exact, which worked out well for my initial purpose. It must be charged up using a usb-c cord and then it can be held freehand to unscrew whatever you need. On/ off buttons are simple to figure out from the instructions What I did not realize is how many other times it would come in handy to remove tiny screws on battery operated toys. No wonder I used to always strip those tiny screws in the past…and then the battery cover would fall off the toy…it was because I never had a tiny enough screw driver! Even pet toys have those tiny screws to cover the tiny batteries. I thought this would be a one time use tool, but it has been used over and over and more than paid for itself. ... show more
