  • Good paper.
Size: 9x12 Style: Sheet Pack
This watercolor paper is great for beginners, and still suitable for professionals. Just watch your water usage, the paper will get puffy.

  • It's good for the price
Size: 18x24 Style: Wire Binding
I have revised my review. I have tested 19 other papers and this product is now lower price since may of 2022. Both sides are almost Identical, and good cold press texture. I have looked at my work using the paper in May and I find it has flattened out. Wait a while and your paper will be just fine. In times of inflation, Strathmore has come through, and lowered the price from 30 to 22 dollars US. I usually do 11x14 to 12x18. The paper is 18x24. If you cut it in half it costs $1 per sheet. Price compare: Arches 12x16 $3. Winsor and Newton Professional 12x16 $2.50. Bockingford 11x15 $2. Hahnemule Harmony 12x16 $2. Strathmore 400 11x15 $1.75. Fluid 12x16 $1.53. Khadi India 11.3x16 $1.30. Strathmore 300 11x15 $1.25. Canson Montval French 4'x15' roll cut to 12x16" $1. Artists Loft Italian 12x18 $.66 Fabriano Studio Italian 11x14 $.60. Canson XL French 11x15 $.56. I purchased all of these papers and tested them. For sheets $1 or less, Strathmore 300 ranks behind Canson Montval and Fabriano Studio. For papers over $1.30 this paper ranks last in quality. The best paper for the money is Fabriano Studio 11x14 (50 sheet pad) and costs only $.60 per sheet and is better overall than all papers under $2. per sheet. Strathmore 300 ranks number 3 for papers under $2. Papers at any price, Winsor and Newton is the very best and only cost 2.5 times as much. ... show more

  • Good paper for practice
Size: 9x12 Style: Sheet Pack
Ok so I have been an artist for 35 years (oh my giddie aunt, I am getting old 😱😱😱), and I have worked with several mediums on several different types of papers. I just started using acrylic and just two weeks ago, water color. This paper is good to play around on. It's 140lbs and I am not certain if it's made from cotton. So it isn't what I would consider high end paper. Not like that lovely 200lb cold pressed cotton y'all can work n work for hours. But in my pics I showed acrylic work (ie the waterfall and the wood brook) and that chickadee was my first watercolor attempt. The paper won't take a ton of punishment just fyi. And it doesn't hold as much water (for all you watercolor beginners) but if you want to play around and get a feel for your brushes and colors, it works. Strathmore is a good mid-level to professional grade paper. Been around for eons. Lol. I would start my niece out on this and I would use this as a go to for getting going. I would switch to a heavier paper though if you want something a lil more professional. I will keep using it. I have a lot of fun with it. And really that is what art is about. ... show more

  • I love this paper.

You can use this paper for many things. I let my grand blessings ( grandchildren) do marbling art work with this paper to decorate a wall in my craft room. You can get more sheets for around the same cost at Walmart though.
