Seems to be a very tough stain- resistant to weather. It is too early to tell how it will do in Arizona monsoon rains and winter in the mountains of Arizona. So far, so good. It was easy to apply and covered picnic table surfaces well.

    • A good stain, great color.
The stain is a heavy oil based stain. It works very well when applied either by brush or HVLP spray gun. I did try to use a pump sprayer, but that didn't work well. The oil is so heavy that atomizing with anything less than a HVLP spray gun won't work. I also tried a spray gun on my compressor, which also didn't work. The air sprayer atomized too much and created a fine mist. After completing the fence using the HVLP spray gun, I really like the results. Cleanup with paint thinner was easy enough but a bit time-consuming. It's a good stain and I think will last a long time. It's just a little hefty to apply. ... show more

I purchased hickory stain/sealer to refinish the inside of my wood shed. (CDX plywood, exterior plywood floor, 2x4 structures) After a thorough mixing, I used a roller and brush, with excellent results. The oil base spread evenly and penetrated all surfaces. On the CDX plywood, I applied a second coat 48 hours later, due to its rough texture. Looks great. ... show more

Not what I had hoped for. Does not stay mixed well, changes tone as you brush. Did not hold up once stained, changed tone within a month. Have used cheaper stains with better, longer lasting results. probably will not repurchase due to need of 2x the amount to satisfy me.
