We assembled the drawers first, you have to follow the directions exactly to ensure you place all the correct pegs/screws in the right spots and orientation. If you do all that correctly it comes together beautifully and looks great! It took me and my husband a little less than 2 hours, drawers slide smoothly. Update 03/30/2023: I received the hardware kit via FedEx just a few days after speaking with customer care, and assembled it tonight. As mentioned below, quality is about what you'd expect from a manufactured wood product like this. Sturdy enough, but not 400-lb-solid-wood-take-shelter-under-during-tornado sturdiness. It seems about as durable as other similar items I've purchased that have lasted years and years (but have never seen a tornado). The instructions were clear and easy to follow. Assembly was simple enough, albeit time-consuming, as is the case with any furniture that has multiple drawers. Overall I'd say great value for the price. It's labeled as kids furniture but could easily serve as an adult dresser. Word of advice: Have a drill with a screwdriver attachment or a power screwdriver handy. This is especially useful for attaching the drawer tracks; there are a lot of small screws that have no pilot holes for them, you'll be making the holes yourself. I updated my review from 3 to 4 stars. Original Review: I opened the box and arranged all of the pieces to prepare for assembly, only the find that the hardware was not included. This is probably a one-off case, but frustrating nonetheless. I was hoping for the ability to just request the hardware through Amazon, but the only option was to return/exchange the item. I am not boxing this thing back up. I contacted the manufacturer directly by phone, explained the situation, and they provided instructions on how to order just the hardware. I provided the requested information via email, now I wait. I will say the rep I spoke with was very helpful and friendly, and the hold time to speak with a live person was only a few seconds. The materials/quality are as expected for a manufactured wood item like this, no complaints there. I will update the review after I receive the hardware and am able to assemble it. ... show more

I'm sad to be writing this review, because I just wrote one for a different Storkcraft dresser that turned out great. This one, however, was a complete disaster. The big difference between these was that for the other one, I took everything out of the box but didn't assemble it right away. By the time I was ready to assemble, I couldn't find the written instructions. So, I had to Google them and found instructions on YouTube. They were clear and I assembled the dresser easily. With this one, I used the written instructions, and they were horrible. To be clear, there are no words, just pictures. Some of the pieces in the pictures are backward from what they're supposed to be (i.e., the "screw hole" pictured should be on the other side). (They're not really screws, but I don't know what they're called so I'm just using that word.) Also, they kept flipping the pieces upside down and/or backward from one step to the next. I had to examine each picture at each step extremely carefully to see which direction it was facing -- sometimes the only clue would be a small cutout, or a screw hole that was showing in the last picture but wasn't showing in the current one, meaning the unit had been turned around. Overall, it was extremely confusing. By the time I got the unit assembled and the drawers put together, the drawers wouldn't go in. Obviously I had done something wrong during the assembly. So, I tried to take it apart to try again, and the entire thing just broke. The little metal pieces and dowels ripped apart the flimsy particle board before I could even get the pieces apart. Of course, I knew these pieces were particle board due to the price, but it just wasn't strong enough to hold up when being taken apart. So, if you do decide to buy this piece (or any other by Storkcraft based on my experience), I highly recommend skipping the written instructions altogether and going straight to YouTube. Frankly, even those are a bit annoying (I really don't need to be shown how to turn a screwdriver EVERY SINGLE TIME a screw needs to be used), but at least they are clear and the first dresser went together no problem. Unfortunately, this one ended up a mess and went straight to the dump. Lesson learned. ... show more

So... I never leave five-star reviews. Something has to REALLY impress me to get that fifth star, and this one does. I'm currently pregnant with my second set of twins, so I've been around the block a bit, but we needed a dresser for the new nursery. frankly, this was the right price, the right size, and the right color. I don't know if I didn't read the product description well enough or what, but what's fabulous about this dresser is that it has a locking system that only lets you open one drawer at a time. This would be infuriating as an adult dresser, but since my older twins managed to tip their dresser over simply by opening all the drawers at once, this could be a literal lifesaver for babies and toddlers.
