So the bad first. The drawers are a major disappointment. It's mostly pressed board and not made overly well. For the price I paid for this whole bed I absolutely was expecting better wood than pressed wood. Plus the drawers are shallow and 3" shorter than the frame and they are incredibly shallow. I would give the drawers 3 stars if I could rate them separately. The only reason why I wouldn't give it less stars is because it is only marginally better than Walmart brand furniture and because thankfully it actually matches the other furniture incredibly well. To be honest though, the drawers were a complete after thought for me. It was the bed frame I needed and wanted. Now the good and the reason why I did give it 4 stars. The bed itself is great, which is what I needed most anyway. It matches perfectly with the other bed frame in the room and the bureaus I had gotten for my other daughters' years ago from a high end furniture place. Plus my 13 yr old daughter put the entire bed frame together on her own! WITHOUT COMPLAINING!! She absolutely loves her bed and is incredibly happy with it. That is what counts the most. The slats are not solid wood, they are more of a layered wood similar to plywood, but not plywood, not sure exactly what it is. I've not seen slats like this before but there are plenty of them and they seem pretty sturdy. As for the seller though, great service. They shipped immediately and got the set a week early, even in a snow storm! Price was a bit high, shipping was crazy high, but unfortunately there were not many other options for me. I think it will be a decent bed. It was easy enough to put together. It looks pretty nice, and seems fairly solid. I don't know how well it will hold up to my boys. Just moving the empty frame it did not seem nearly as stable as I would like, it was pretty wobbly. I was nervous it might actually fall apart sliding it into place. The dresser seems sturdier. It was a decent price, although the cost off the shipping made the overall cost much more pricey than I feel it may be worth. Time will tell. It was packaged nicely. There were some rips and holes in the boxes, but they were well padded inside. I thought, "I have no idea how I would ever be able to repack it to send it back", so I forgave the couple of less than satisfactory pieces shown as they didn't seem to affect the integrity or be visible when it was complete. It seems slightly shakey when my small children and I are on it together, but I think it will hold as long as they don't jump on it as they get bigger. We got a decent mattress that is probably 10-12". It seems so high for a 5 year old who is a wiggly sleeper. I didn't factor in the overall height when we bought it. I think we will hold off on buying a second one for our youngest due to the height of the bed and to see that it actually withstands my wild guys. Overall compared to the other products I researched and reviews I read on them, it seems to be one of the better, more solid beds for a decent price. Update: The company replaced the faulty drawer by sending an entire new drawer component. For this I have upgraded the review to 5 stars, because this really was the only fault. It’s generally very well made and not entirely press board, which is unique in these types of products. My daughter loves it, so that’s the most important thing. Thanks. —— The bed frame is pretty nice, easy to assemble, as expected. The drawer component is another story. You can see in the images one of the drawers does not line up at all (and being that this is all pre-fab, this is a serious manufacturer fault). Also drawers were scuffed and marred. For the price paid, this isn’t acceptable. However, boxing this back up to return is just not realistic. This would have been an easy 5 stars, but 3 for the bed frame only. ... show more

Four screws/furniture bolts intended to secure the curved top portion of headboard, using predrilled holes and countersunk nuts, were too short. ACE Hdwe had hardware the length and threading that I needed and required only minor modification on a grinding wheel. .....take one of the too-short furniture bolts with you into the hardware store. The wooden dowels incorporated in the headboard assembly benefited from application of old fashioned Elmer's Wood Glue. The predrilled holes, for these wooden dowels, allowed too much 'slop' in the fitting. Glue a necessity. If needed, I would purchase a 2nd or 3rd unit for my home. Quite adequate for any of the 11 grandchildren or their parents. ... show more

My adult son needed a bed with storage. This is great for that. Comes in 2 heavy boxes. The underbed storage is put together separately from the bed itself. Son put it together himself. He states if you follow the directions, it can be done by one person. Having a large open space to assemble is a plus. He weighs about 170lbs, and the bed is holding up. It’s very easy to put together. I did it by myself in a couple of hours. It’s holding up great so far. My only complaint is that the drawers are not as deep as they seem. They are about half as deep as the front of the drawer is tall. They don’t hold a lot of clothes. My daughter already has a small wardrobe and after getting this bed, I had to get rid of more clothes and figure out other storage solutions, which defeated the point of getting this bed. ... show more

I didn't like how this package came in 2 boxes. I had unboxed everything only to find the nuts and bolts were missing. And overall, the way the footboard and frame for the shelves are put together is very bizarre. Nonetheless, it is mostly real oak-wood! It's a combination of ply and oak. Also; you only get the set number of screws and bolts needed for the bed. (No extras!) So don't lose them. Otherwise, once the hassle of putting the bed is finished; it's wonderful for the value! And the bed is very sturdy. Worth the money, just dedicate a day off for the construction and keep a close eye on the bolts. And of course; wait for both packages to arrive at your door. ... show more
