DIRECTIONS: If the surface to be waterproofed is dirty or stained, clean it with Star brite Sail & Canvas Cleaner. Fabric to be treated must be dry. Apply enough Waterproofing with the included sprayer, brush, or sponge to thoroughly wet the top surface. Take care to avoid overspray, drips, or penetration onto surfaces not being treated. Allow the treated item to dry for 6 hours before using. Do not fold or store the treated item until dry. Use only in a well-ventilated area. Not for use on hard, non- porous materials or plastic tarps which cannot absorb liquids.

We went on a 5 day camping trip- in which it was supposed to rain essentially every single day we were there. It was not a total wash out- but we got rain (overnight or sporadically for a couple hours each day) for 4 out of the 5 days. I waterproofed both of our 10'x15' tents TWICE with this waterproofing before leaving. it took me multiple hours of applying and drying twice over... but our tents were BONE dry for the entire 5 day trip! It was so nice to be able to retire at the end of a sloppy slushy day to our tents that were totally dry, thanks to Star Brite. I have used this product in the past with similar results. I also use on our 10x10 pop up tents and this has worked wonders for all sort outdoor sporting events. This product is expensive, but definitely worth the investment cost. ... show more

I don’t know what the vehicle is in this compound but smells similar to paint thinner. The smell lingers for days. Water proof; yes for less than a year. UV resistant; yes, for less than a year. Price; is okay for how well it works. I use it a gallon at a time using a pressure sprayer. Have used for a number of years. There are other products that are less and more expensive. A gallon plus to spray the items in photos I attached. Saturating the fabric gives best results. ... show more

So easy to use. Pour into a half gallon or gallon sprayer and you are set. I used it outside on cushions and pool umbrellas. They are all still retaining color and water resistance. I used it on my upholstered dining room chairs (that I took outside to spray and dry) and my rugs and carpets. Anything that was in the path of six grandchildren. This product is much cheaper than buying multiple CANS of stain and water blockers, not to mention it does what it says it will do. I will continue to purchase and keep on hand. ... show more

I have a very old 9x14 tent that has seen a lot of use on Cub Scout and Boy Scout trips. After an unfortunate winter camp where the fly and walls ceased to be water resistant, I purchased this product. I set up the tent in the yard, poured the solution into a hand held pump sprayer and applied. It went on easy and and was clear where the solution had soaked into the fabric and where i had missed and could reapply. The gallon was enough for me to fully apply to the whole tent and twice on the rain fly and door. I was pretty heavy handed with it, but I wanted to ensure that I stayed dry. It does have quite a smell, so be sure to use a good mask and eye protection. You don't want to breathe it in or get any on you. Gloves are also recommended. Leave it to air dry and air out as long as you can get away with. I left mine out for 48 hours and could smell the chemicals traces when I used the tent a month later. I did a water test on the tent after it was back up and it repelled the water quite nicely! And the little bit of rain we had on the most recent camping trip shed right off. The chemicals did burn the lawn in the area that I had the tent staked, but it quickly grew, was cut, and turned green so you cannot even see it after a month. If you can use a large tarp under what you're applying it to, or apply over concrete, I would probably advise that. Easy to use, does what it claims. I'm definitely going to purchase this again for some other aging tents, tarps, and covers. ... show more

Product covered evenly on the car cover well and worked great in pump sprayer,,only negative was the bottle leaks,,the manufacturer need to find a better seal for cap,, box was soaked when I received delivery, loss of product approx 8 ounces this container is 2 liters (67.7 ounces) used a sprayer that holds 64 ounces and only filled sprayer bottle 3/4s of the way. Not the expanding foam, this water proofing stuff. It's great! I've used it on jackets (wool, leather, and that standard waterproof material), gloves, hats, boots, and even my truck tonneau cover (it's a soft-top). Do what the bottle says: clean the material, make sure it's dry, then apply. I applied two coats to all of the things and it's great watching water in the car wash hit the tonneau cover and it acts like it hit glass. It just beads right off. The same with the other clothing items I sprayed it on. In fact, with the gloves, as a test, I put the glove on and submerged it in water and nothing came through. Running water from the faucet on things leaves the material completely dry afterward. I used a spray bottle for the clothes and one of those sponge rollers you get in the paint section of your local hardware store for my tonneau cover. It's really easy to use. I love this stuff. I'm running around the house looking for what else I can water proof! :D I'm not sure about the longevity yet, but I'll update this post when I have to reapply. ... show more
