I used this on several different pieces of outdoor furniture and was nervous that this would discolor the cushions since they are a very light color. Luckily the spray didn’t change the color of any of the fabrics! It was easy to apply and dried fast. I used this product on an outdoor furniture cover. It’s been about a month or two. It’s still working, but I can tell it’s already not repelling water as well and I will need to reapply soon. Like it, but don’t love it.

Don’t use indoors. To protect indoor items, take them outdoors and spray from an upwind location. If you are working to reduce your use of petroleum chemicals., reconsider. But face it, outdoor cushions and umbrellas are made of petrochemicals, so making them last as long as possible is important. I do not recall last year’s sprays as smelling like a refinery. I every In EVERY climate, I recommend to EVALUATE MID-SEASON to two thirds of the season. Use up any left overs for touch ups. When amply applied it still may not last fully one season. Yes, I live in Hawai’i so you might say not a fair comparison, but my things are semi sheltered under a covered lanai. I’ve been in Illinois, Kansas,, New Orleans, Central California for some long, hot summers; they each present climate challenges. Also spent time in Dallas and the Florida panhandle, I just would not want to be sitting outside, sorry. I can’t evaluate it for marine use. i know very little of hiking or camping so can’t help you there. Enjoy your time outdoors. ... show more

Purchased and used on all my outdoor patio furniture cushions beginning of Spring when I brought everything out of winter storage. Today, Oct. 5, I moved everything back into storage. We have had a number of days without rain and above average temps in the 70s & 80s, so I expected everything to be dry. The morning dew alone was enough to soak past the spray protectant and wet the padding (I’ve noticed other times throughout the summer when the cushions would have wet spots long after it rained). I’ve used 2 other brands in the past, and while I paid more money for them, the water always beaded off and didn’t soak through the entire summer. I bought this brand for the price and the UV protection aspect, but I would not buy again. Maybe this is better for cushions that are outdoors but under a roof. My furniture is exposed to the rain. I’ll pay a few extra dollars and get a better quality next year. ... show more

I buy this every year and use it on my umbrella and outside cushions. I do take my cushions inside in the winter, and try to keep things out of the rain. It has helped keep my things from tearing and getting sun damaged. They do fade a little each year still, but I like that this helps protect my outside fabrics. It is a little expensive.
