  • Excellent camp cook set
Style: Base Camp Cook Set (21 Pieces)
This is such a convenient set for camping! The set includes the pot, a small pan, four plates, four bowls, four sporks, a small spatula, a small serving/mixing spoon, and a heat-resistant tray for you to lay the pot/pan on after cooking. It all conveniently nestles into each other, which is the truly biggest appeal since it can be a headache to pack so many different things for camp trips, especially kitchenware. The plates and bowls are on the small side, so you won't be able to pack big meals on them. The pan is also smaller, but great for things like eggs. The pot is a reasonable size. The latch keeps the lid on the pot so nothing falls out. I will continue using this for many more camping trips! ... show more

  • AWESOME set for family camping and our boy/girl scout trips
Style: Base Camp Cook Set (21 Pieces)
To start I had all the needed camping gear to keep a family off the grid for a couple nuclear half lives. The problem is it looked like it has survived at least one of those half-lives already and my wife is more of a clamping person so to get her out of the hotel was going to take some doing. My family is slowly becoming outdoor enthusiasts. As a kid, my family went camping, snow/water skiing probably 3 of 4 weekends all year long. The beauty of living in SoCal. Since then I have had kids and all that slowed quite a bit. I still go on my target shooting and camping trips. Well, my twin 9-year-olds (1 boy 1 girl) and both are in scouts now that has got them off the iPad and outdoors FINALLY!!! We also do other after-school activities. That being said it makes for endless Amazon shopping and trips to local stores as well. The boy and girl scout packs they are in are VERY busy with outdoor activities with my son meeting up 2-3x a month and my daughter's girl scouts 1-2x a month. So out with the old and in with the new. The Good: 1. NOT lightweight. Why is this good? BEcause it will last. The pot and pan are plenty heavy duty while the rest of the stuff is modern plastic so it makes a nice balance for the set. 2. This is a CAMPING set, not backpacking set. I have stuff for backpacking, I wanted a family camping set and this is perfect 3. Everything is large enough to be user-friendly and small enough to be camping friendly 4. You can add the companion set of 24oz Stanley cups and have a REALLY nice set (shown in one of my photos) 5. Everything heated nicely and even on our Coleman stove 6. Everything cleaned up easy which is a must when camping 7. I got this as an Amazon warehouse deal and the price could not be beat The Bad: Nothing bad to note just yet but I am going to have to buy one more place setting for my 3-year-old but for now its fine. I'm hoping the extra stuff will still fit in the pot. Other Notes: Stanley has been around forever and they stand behind their products. I don't see why they would be different now. I saw a few negative comments but I always try to read those because often people are to bias or expecting perfection for a discount store price. I will try to answer any questions you have so please feel free to ask. ... show more

  • Stanley for the Win
Style: Base Camp Cook Set (21 Pieces)
My prior camp set was a backpacking kit, which was great for 2 adults. A small camp stove was all we needed to survive. But there's something about not just surviving, but luxury camping; and that's where the Stanley Adventure Camp set shines. The Adventure Camp set comes with large pot as well as a smaller skillet or sauce pan. I was very surprised about the pan as it wasn't just a bent piece of metal, but it had a thick bottom plate to better distribute heat! This nearly rivals my home cooking pans. The larger utensils, spoon, slotted spoon break down into two pieces, for storage. While not as robust as a larger metal serving spoon, for camp cooking, they are pretty darn sturdy. The plates, bowls and sporks all clean up very well, and everything easily stacks back together for storage. We've used the kit several times for 2-3 day trips; and we are very impressed with the thought that the designers put into the kit. A few notable features that we really appreciate: - Pot lid has holes for straining - Everything can be stacked easily, and several pieces within the kit show the correct order - The thickness of the pan, along with a handle locking piece to ensure it doesn't collapse - The ease of cleaning the plastic We've already recommended this Stanley Adventure Camp cookware set to friends, who are similarly impressed. Don't wait, get it now and take your camp cooking to a new level. ... show more

  • Favorite skillet so far. If only one could buy just the pan, that would be great.
Style: Fry Pan Cook Set (9 Pieces)
I have had this kit for 1 year, and use the pan at home and on the trail. The pan may be a little heavy for some because of the thick base, but for me, the physical size, durability, and usefulness far exceeds the weight. Most all the components in the kit are very useful. The plastic lid being the only exception. The lid would not stay securely attached to the pan and is essentially useless in regard to cooking. The plates, utensils, and cutting board are nice features. I have used all of them periodically throughout the past year while camping. I especially liked the 2-piece spatula design. For the most part, an excellent kit that Stanley has put together. I have recommended this cook set to others, as well as the Stanley adventure cook set and the adventure prep w/cook set. I would say that Stanley's Adventure series cook sets are a great value. Would be even better if one could buy individual components instead of the complete kits. Now, for my personal preferences, I have gradually removed or replaced every item that comes with the pan from my backpack kit. Useless plastic lid replaced with MSR Alpine plate. The alpine plate also negates the need for the plastic plates. Although the spatula is a nice feature, I replaced that with a small stainless steel spatula that I made. I use a titanium spoon & fork set, so the supplied utensils are of no use to me. The cutting board was also removed, being too small for my uses. The silicon trivet isn't something I would never use anyway, so that was removed as well. ... show more
