So happy I chose this safe! It was super easy to program and works great! Heavy and nicely built. The door seems a little thin but most safe doors look that way. The locking mechanism is strong and thick though and opens without any problems. The inside comes with a removable shelf and it's bigger than I expected. Fits nicely on my shelf but has plenty of space inside for storing items. I can fit 2 accordian style plastic storage folders in with no problem and still have a ton more room for other things. The folders have all my tax documents in it and are the size of a sheet of paper but a lot thicker bc each folder is filled with numerous documents. I had to fold it a little to get it past the door but barely and once it was inside, it lays on the shelf at it's full size with no problems. This safe is super roomy and durable and I feel like it will last a very long time. I feel so much more comfortable about leaving my valuables home when I'm not now that they are all safely tucked away in the safe. ... show more

My son has this in his apartment at college and it's just big enough to store all his valuables (laptop, tablet, wallet, keys, etc.) and heavy enough to keep his roommates or visitors from picking it up and running off with it. Bought this for my husband, no problem programming it with code, sturdy and secure if bolted down. Large enough, holds a lot. He loves it and for the price it's hard to beat. Inexpensive peace of mind. Is it a safe? Not really but it'll stop anyone who's looking to grab and go. It's not fireproof but he uses the waterproof, fireproof bags for those items. If you really want a secure safe, you should plan to hide this one. It isn't terribly heavy/impregnable. However, it is just the right size for official papers if not for your gol bars. I bought this one as a gift. I’ve had my for 2-3 years at least. It has a lot of space. Hold my MacBook and back up drive, checkbook, full size headphones, 3 full size men’s colognes (people have stolen my stuff) I have mine mounted on solid wood secured to my closet shelf. It’s hidden by hanging clothes. Listen if you want a heavy pro safe this is not for you. You’ll need to spend thousands. Just like a home, car or anything else. If someone want to break in they will.     • Home safe - a "safe" investment

This is an amended review. After having this safe for some time I must admit it was a very good product and what I consider a great home safe. It is/was strong and a good vehicle for whatever you deem important enough to be safeguarded. The lock always performed with both the access code and safety key when needed. The room inside its compartment is ample, while not too much of an inconvenience wherever it is stored. The reason I'm citing that it WAS strong is because, unfortunately due to some personal business the combination to the safe was misplaced, along with the key. As I needed to get it opened rather hastily there was no other option UT to have it broken opened. Here's where I can really vouch for its durability and protection rating. It was nearly impossible for this to be done..and, fortunately for us, turned out to be a rather comical situation.
