Should I Buy It?

If you enjoy fishing and appreciate quality craftmanship in your fishing gear, this St Croix rod would be a worthy addition to your collection. This rod displays an excellent balance of strength, durability, and delicacy - making it suitable for different types of fishing. Despite one minor flaw of stiffness for smaller lures, the overwhelming positive feedback makes it a safe and worthwhile purchase.

  • It’s a ST Croix
Style: 5'6" Ultra-light/Fast 4 Pc.
I bought this for my wife as she already has 2 other St Croix rods and I wanted her to have something that was more portable that she could throw in her tackle bag no problem. First time out she caught the biggest bass either of us has ever caught that thing was a monster. Someone forgot to tell the rod it was a four piece ultralight rod this little rod is a beast. ... show more

  • Good rod

You would have a hard time finding a better rod at this price point.

  • Little to stiff for smaller lures
Style: 6'6" Light/Fast 4 Pc.
Purchased to fish trout on the Colorado, Eagle, and Roaring Fork. Like to fish with 4lb test line and 1/8 ounce or less lures. The rod is a little to stiff for lures of this size, you can't feel the action of the lure. I'm keeping the rod as a backup, but have replaced with a different rod. This rod would be great for heaver lures and line. ... show more

  • Work of art
Style: 7'0" Medium-light/Fast 1 Pc.
I own several St. Croix rods. This one is soon to become my new favorite. I use a Mojo Bass and Mojo Yak which are great rods, but the full cork handle on the Triumph is stronger, more comfortable and just all around better.

  • Can't say enough about this rod
Style: 6'6" Medium-heavy/Fast 4 Pc.
In fact, there is nothing bad I can say about these rods or St. Croix's dedication to craftsmanship you can use for a lifetime. Everything I've had that looks and feels this good in my hands has always ended up on the shelf for safe keeping. I had my last two travel Triumph rods stolen out of the back of my suv. It took me a season to be able to replace one. I felt as if a part of me wasn't able to fish with just any rod. I was anxious. A little stressed out. Damn offspring kept eating my fishing pole money week after week! Love for me through. Because I love my triumph!! Ha ha!! ( yes, the girls too.) I finally ordered the medium heavy fast action rod, and it was better than my first two which were the ultra lights. This one has a nice pearly blue color with depth in the paint itself. Have I got to use it yet? Nope, just waiting for some ice to break up, or Snow To let Me At the river. Til then, it's sitting ready to for its debut. I have no doubt of it's performance to come. As I have none of my mojo bass' or my fly rod. They are the best rods I have ever used in 42 years. I don't feel that I could spend more and get better. ... show more

I always knew st.croix made quality rods, this was my first rod, from st.croix and let’s just say they stole my heart out my chest, this rod has every thing I need, it’s lightweight, sensitive, durable and has a good amount of backbone to drive that hook home.just look at that 6 pound tilapia I caught with it. ... show more

  • Just don't know.
Style: 6'6" Light/Fast 1 Pc.
I like it. I got the Triumph because I couldn't find a Premier anywhere. Its lite but I haven't weighed it. Price point is great. Cast good. Works good with my Stradic 1000. Plus St Croix warranty is absolutely the best. If its anything like the rest of St Croix rods should last a long time. Shipping is great. Came in a hard cardboard tube. 80% of my rods are St Croix. Get it if you don't want to pay more for the Premier or Avid. Can't go wrong with any of the St Croix rods. ... show more
