  • Easy to Use and Works Well.
Pros: Works well, easy to apply, no mess Cons: None I ordered this soldering flux pen as an alternative to the rosin-based solder I was using. I figured this would be a much easier way of applying solder quickly to wires and PCBs and would speed up my solder jobs since it doesn't need to be cleaned up. I was completely right; this thing is a huge time-saver. A quick dab on a PCB solder pad and a quick swipe across the tip of a wire and the solder flows and sticks just like it would had I used the rosin flux. The pen is super easy to use as it's basically a flux marker. To get it started, just press down the tip against a solid surface and the flux flows easily out of the pen. The back of the pen has a removable cap that makes it easy to refill the pen when the flux runs out. The flux used in this pen is quite nice. It's thin enough to quickly and easily coat PCBs and wires and leaves no mess. It's non-corrosive and non-conductive, so you don't have to worry about cleaning up afterwards. There's 10ml of flux in this pen so it should last quite a while before needing to be refilled. It doesn't have a strong or unpleasant smell but can come out of the felt tip quite quickly if you're not careful. I'd say this pen is a must-have in any soldering kit or toolbox. Overall, I'd say this soldering flux pen is totally worth 5 stars. It works great, is super easy to use, and leaves no mess. ... show more

  • Part of basic soldering kit
Works as expected. This is a basic part of a soldering kit so it's neither good nor bad--it just works as expected.

  • You learn from failure.
I’m sure this product works well and my failed experience is only due to my own lack of knowledge on the different types of Flux and their uses (I’m an amateur at best). I tried this flux after reading a successful PS3 reflow review posted here, however my attempt didn't work. The flux seemed to evaporate before I could apply the heat. The Pen works well and offers an easy way to control the amount of flux applied; the product was priced well and shipped quickly as well. ... show more

  • Handy flux pen to have on hand!
This flux pen is really convenient for occasional soldering. It does a good job helping to clean the contacts and help the solder to adhere well. I would buy again!

  • Works great
Alot easier to use then paste when you aren't at your bench and just need to fix something quickly without worrying about cleaning up the Flux.

  • Worked well for my onkyo dts chip reflow repair
I used this flux in conjuction with a rework station i bought here on amazon to repair my onkyo receiver's dts chip by reflowing the solder pins between my hdmi-board and the dts chip. Then after it cooled I checked if it worked... Success! I had sound again. I added some n1h1 thermal paste and a heatsink to the dts chip and processor to help with the heat dissipation. I guess its a common problem on these models of onkyo receivers to have the hdmi chip overheat and desolder from its connections. Something to do with more amps goings thru the chip then designed... Anyhow, I'm dragging on. It worked well and my project was a success! Five stars! ... show more
