  • Worked well for my onkyo dts chip reflow repair
Size: No-Clean Pen
I used this flux in conjuction with a rework station i bought here on amazon to repair my onkyo receiver's dts chip by reflowing the solder pins between my hdmi-board and the dts chip. Then after it cooled I checked if it worked... Success! I had sound again. I added some n1h1 thermal paste and a heatsink to the dts chip and processor to help with the heat dissipation. I guess its a common problem on these models of onkyo receivers to have the hdmi chip overheat and desolder from its connections. Something to do with more amps goings thru the chip then designed... Anyhow, I'm dragging on. It worked well and my project was a success! Five stars! ... show more

  • and this one is— BY FAR— the best. It shipped quickly and neatly
Size: No-Clean Pen
I am a novice to soldering as a 20-something- woman- who-pays-people-to-help-with-electronics, but I wanted to learn to fix my electronics on my own. I tried three different pens, and this one is— BY FAR— the best. It shipped quickly and neatly. The applicator had zero leakage and was easy to use. My other pens leaked and made it impossible to travel with them. Now that I have the pen, I was able to use it to fix the battery joints in my nikon camera AND then sell the camera for 250$. Before I knew about flux pens, the camera was just wasting. This pen specifically made the process EASY and quick. I highly suggest this product. It is also nice that is eco-friendly as someone who cares about that! Must buy! ... show more

  • Useful for desoldering
Size: No-Clean Pen
I had the worst time trying to desolder components without a flux pen like this. After I got it (and figured out the pen works when you push in the tip), I was able to get a teeny broken SMD switch off of a board no problem with this and a solder wick.

  • What the flux?!
Size: No-Clean Pen
Amazing! I just started a new hobby... Quadcopters. I had a LOT of soldering to do. This thing is REALLY magical... I had never used flux before, and now I know what an idiot I was. After reading about the physics involved in the process of soldering, I understood. I tried, I was amazed. Perfect soldering, always! All you need, is Flux, good solder, good soldering station. Get this, read/youtube a bit and be amazed at your newly attained soldering skillz! ... show more

  • Works Good
Size: No-Clean Pen
I don’t have a lot of experience using flux pens, but this product works. It can be annoying having to put the cap on every time you are done and back off when you are ready to use it again. Maybe if the pen could be designed for easy access i would of given it all stars. It is easy to clean, does not leave that flux oily substance on your pc boards. It allows solder wire to bond with metal surfaces and it also works great for wicking. ... show more

  • Nice Stuff
Size: No-Clean Pen Set
Nice stuff. The pen is really handy. I have yet to refill the pen after the initial fill, it goes a long way. I have used it right out of the bottle to flux a large nest of wires I needed to solder together, it worked great. The felt tip also holds up great, unless you are using it on sandpaper it should last a long time. Good value. Buy some. ... show more

  • What I expected
Size: No-Clean Pen
Works as indicated. Price was comparable to other products. I don't recall receiving any information on how to refill or what to use as a refill. Again works well as long as I remember to push down on the tip to release flux -- sometimes difficult with suspend small items.

  • Cost effective no-clean flux pen for PCBs
Size: No-Clean Pen
Being no-clean, it's not the most aggressive flux out there, but is great for helping solder along. For situations where there's significant oxidation, a more aggressive flux (such as a rosin flux) is more appropriate. As with any marker-type flux pen, the tip will fray if you use it on uneven surfaces (or for fluxing component leads one at a time). For those applications, a brush applicator (like a Bon-Kote) is better. For circuit boards, these markers work great. ... show more
