Not as advertised. Does not fit around a 5x5 square pole despite the advertisement. My son was so excited for this pole pad but it does not fit a Goalrilla 60" with 5x5 square pole.

This pole pad is very good for just about any application where you need to cover 3 sides of a pole. I got it for our martial arts studio to keep people from walking into the vertical support. It's not in the middle of the main mat but it's close enough and people kept walking into the pole while they're on their phones. In the current litigious environment we live in, you can't be too careful. The pad attaches with velcro. If you really want to make it permanent you can wrap it like a candy cane with gorilla tape. The material is very strong on the outside. The inside is the heavyweight closed cell foam. It won't last forever, so check it once or twice a year for wear spots, but it feels good for now. ... show more

Our driveway has an aluminum awning with poles and we really needed to wrap something around these poles after buying a truck so that when we pull into the driveway we do not damage the truck by hitting the poles (yes, I can be careless) Saw these pads and thought, why not? Well, they fit perfectly, they are well made, easy to wrap around the awning pole and hold together by Velcro strips. We have so far had no negative issues with these pole pads. They look good too. This item is very good quality. The material is thick enough to prevent injury if someone were to fall onto the basketball pole. It took some work to wrap this tightly around the pole, but once up, it’s stayed perfectly (despite several rain storms and windy weather). I recommend for anyone who has a basketball setup at home. My husband suffered a concussion from accidentally tripping and hitting his head on the pole a few years back - this protective layer is a must now that we have a set up at home. ... show more
