  • Tight kitchen? NO PROBLEM!
Style: SPT
I will probably upload pictures and video at some point, as i am writing this on PC and i dont have pictures handy, but most everything is already available in other reviews I've read. I wished there were more pics showing the sink components, as it would have saved me some time between getting the dishwasher and a compatible faucet. (FROM AMAZON, I went with a dual nozzle; sprayer and potfiller faucet combo so i can still use the sink when the dishwasher is connected, just look for one that has a regular faucet part that unscrews. they should specify if compatible or not in Q&A. ALSO, way cheaper online and likely not available in stores) My unit actually arrived slightly damaged. I'm not sure if it happened actively in transport or what, but it actually caused one of the connectors underneath the unit to become unplugged, and during first use, the main washer pump wouldn't power on... NO PROBLEM THOUGH!! This unit was designed with serviceability in mind, all fit into a compact, yet sound-deadening model. I spoke with the customer service and they were very quick in response and attentive to the issue. Even though they were fast, I'm VERY impatient, and even faster at fixing things myself.. I wasn't willing to wait weeks for a replacement unit and i wasn't fussed about cosmetic dents or missing screws anyways if they had no effect on the functionality of the unit as a whole.. i found replacements anyways! LOL! I had a feeling that the few loose screws and damage on the shipping container had something to do with it... It IS a somewhat heavy load to be fair... ANYWAYS, The unit emptied itself after the unsuccessful maiden voyage and i turned it on its side, revealing a service door on the bottom that is locked in by one screw and a few clamps. Removing this cover revealed the neat design and wiring to all the components underneath the case. Staring me in the face was the culprit, one loose electrical connector to the main pump. After that, the unit worked GREAT, and my dishes all came out SPARKLING like they would any other traditional unit. It honestly fit alot more dishes than i expected as well! Just be mindful of how the sprayer arms operate best, positioning the dishes so, and it works WONDERS. The manual does a fine job in describing IDEAL placement of dishes. It may seem like a stretch, but it can fit quite a load in it ;) I do pre-rinse all dishes, just to make the job easier and filter cleaning easier as well, but i have a feeling it would make little to no difference as the design on this unit is clever, yet simple and efficient. water used is also very light, compared to handwashing, especially! The unit could pay itself off in a few years time and THATS NO JOKE! I wish i bought it sooner, as this was on my list for a few years! That's not even including the time its been saving me from dishwashing!! I wanted to write out all my thoughts on this unit, as it did cost a number of pretty pennies, but every single one of them counted!! This unit may have been a bit cheaper than others, and that can be seen in some parts like the faucet connector being plastic... I WISH it was metal, it would last longer, BUT, these parts are all SUPER easy to replace when they do go bad, and I have a feeling it actually will last, and I WONT need to replace any parts for a very long time. Yes, some parts are plastic that I WISH weren't, but its not the cheap plastic either, so I'm really not upset or fussed about it. Like i mentioned, I have a feeling that im just traumatized by cheap plastic parts breaking on purchases in the past and that this adapter wont ever break. It feels solid. WORD OF WARNING: If youre not confident in your plumbing abilities or have had trouble installing watertight connections in the past, just have someone who is decent help you. A plumber would cost alot, but you have peace of mind knowing its right and it will work. If you have a buddy that is good with plumbing side jobs tho, crack a few beers and spend an hour or so installing the new faucet and putting the hoses together. JUST MAKE SURE that you DO NOT MISS THE RUBBER O RINGS!!!! THEY TAPE THEM ON SO YOU CANT LOSE THEM BEFORE ITS TIME TO PUT IT TOGETHER. once its put together, you wont have to worry, as the quick connect is the only thing that will be used from hereon out. IF YOU MISS ANY ONE OF THE RINGS, YOU WILL HAVE A BIG AND POSSIBLY EXPENSIVE MESS TO CLEAN UP AT YOUR OWN IGNORANT EXPENSE. If you're worried about this, JUST HAVE SOMEONE DO IT THAT KNOWS, thats all! It will save you a big headache. OTHER TIPS: 1)When the unit is done running, disconnect the quick-connect, put the quick-connect end of the hose down in the sink and shake/jimmy the living F- out of it, and all the water will work its way out of the lines. once it stops leaking when shaken, you can bend the hoses around in a loop, lock them in place and it sits almost completely flush to the wall! No need for the hoses that tuck into the unit itself on other more expensive models, this one sits just a flush to the wall as the baseboard will allow! 2) make sure the unit is almost completely level when operating. If you have the unfortunate situation as i have where your floors may not be as level as the next house, you may need to find the best positioning to where the lowest point is towards the back of the unit, just to avoid any spills. I cant figure out where it came out exactly, because the unit is sealed very well when closed, but if i leave the door side towards the slope of the kitchen floors, it somehow will leak a little bit out the door hinge. I don't think this is a design flaw, or damage, just an unfortunate situation i will have to resolve one day, but not related to the washer itself. Heck, it could even be due to my water pressure being 150 psi.... Yeah, my house has problems, im working on it.... Anyways, that's about all i have to say about this thing... If you're planning on getting it, DO IT! Get the dual faucet too, it came in more handy having this vs any other faucet combo that is compatible to go with the adapter. Don't order the extra adapter either, it is included with the hoses. They don't leave you out to dry, everything is included up to the point of the universal connecter for the faucet. if your faucet doesn't have the traditional twist off nozzle size like you'd find on a cheap bathroom faucet or cheap kitchen tap, you absolutely will need to get a faucet that does. Parts for the other 2-in-one sprayer/faucet types just don't exist. I can see them being POSSIBLE to make for certain models, but nobody does because all of those parts are custom and specific to the individual sprayer models themselves. The manufacturers would have to make the adapters for them specifically, but they just dont. ... show more

  • Easy setup, works well. Can be a permanent install with a bit of work
Style: SPT
I do not have the right dimensions of counters for a built-in dishwasher, and as an avid home cook a countertop unit would be basically useless. I'm very happy to have found a workable in-between where shipping didn't cost more than the unit itself. I wanted to install it a bit more permanently though, rather than having to hook it up to my faucet every single time. In theory, this should've been a fairly simple task needing only a few couplings. extension for the drain pipe and water inlet, and a tee valve for the water supply. However, the measurements for the included plumbing are nowhere to be found in the manual. A bit of googling led me to a forum discussion about this very issue, which enlightened me to the fact that all the tubing is in metric measurements. Converting this to find compatible plumbing measured in US Imperial was...a task. Three hardware store trips and several worm clamps and flow converters later, I have a permanent water supply and drain hookup for the machine, which works great! It's quiet and cleans the dishes well. If you want to hook this machine up to a waterline and drain for more ongoing convenient use, save yourself a bit of hassle and label which hose is the water supply and which is the drain, and bring them both to the hardware store so you can manually test the fit of any conjoining pieces. ... show more

  • It works well.
Style: SPT
This dishwasher works as well as a permanent one. It's smaller, at about 2/3 the width of a normal dishwasher, but I could still fit a 16 quart stock pot in it when I moved the upper rack to the top position. I could wash taller stuff by removing the upper rack. It just barely fit a medium-sized cookie tray on the bottom rack. It was able to wash dried on food on the normal setting when using detergent in the pre-wash. It was gentle enough to clean light, disposable off-brand tupperwear on the top rack. The cutlery basket has a useful cage for washing small items. I was able to use the filter while the machine was running, though that is probably not recommended. The machine is just small enough to fit between my fridge and stove for storage, and it doubles as a handy bit of extra counter space. Attaching the hoses and the sink adaptor was easy. I did have a loose O-ring fall out of something while I wasn't looking and had to guess where it went, so be careful about that. I made sure to secure all the fittings tightly because of the reports of leaking in the other reviews. I have not had any leaks. Some aspects of the user interface are not immediately intuitive, but it's easy enough after reading the manual. It has several different useful settings. The manual was obviously written by someone who speaks English as a second language, but it is much better than most. Most people won't have a sink that is low enough to self-drain the hose after use, so they will have to do it manually. It's easy enough after you learn the trick to getting all of it out. A large bowl is big enough to hold all the water. The hose and power cord clip on the back hold them, but the overall arrangement is kind of messy. That's easy to hide when you put it up against a wall. All the hose connections are made out of plastic, so I am a little concerned about long-term durability. It is sturdy plastic though, and took well to being turned with a wrench. You also should not have to mess with most of the fittings after assembly, with the exception of the part that connects to the sink adapter. I will try to give an update after several months. ... show more
