Description

The Spinal Solution 2-inch Bunkie Board, provides a solid surface foundation for any platform beds, bunks and daybeds. It adds support to the mattress and will keep mattress stay in good shape thus extending the life of your mattress. It will give a firm bottom support for the mattress and raises the mattress up for about 2 Inch. When a mattress is placed directly on slats or metal spring, the mattress will have the tendency to rip or sink. These can be avoided with the use of a Bunkie board. Using a Bunkie board doubles the mattress' life expectancy. This Bunkie board is a good alternative in lieu of a box spring that may be too high for day beds. It will give the bed a lift without adding much height. This Bunkie board is strong enough to be used directly on bed frame in lieu of a box spring. It will give the mattress a lift which is quite low but will definitely hold up the mattress. It is wrapped in a stitch bonded nonwoven fabric. It meets federal standards 1632 and 1633 fire code. This Spring Coil Bunkie Board will give you enduring comfort and durability for an excellent sleep.

  • Great definitely helps
Color: Grey Size: Queen Style: Split
Well, we bought a nice new mattress but there were times where it was uncomfortable because the frame had some voids where I think the memory would try to seep through anyway, this eliminated that problem so very comfortable sleeping

  • Good product, but slats & bad shipping
The product packaging was badly damaged in shipping. There were several holes, and it looked like a truck had run over it multiple times, purposely. However, the boards survived. They are not solid boards as much as they're seven covered slats. But there's some kind of filling on top, so it's not just covered slats. They fit a queen bed perfectly. I put them UNDER a 5" box spring to raise the height a little and provide extra support for the box spring, and, in turn--the mattress. Nice difference. I don't sink in as much, everything is firmer in the right way ("gives back more") and both the mattress and box spring are more supported. You can get an even firmer feel by putting it directly under the mattress (on top of the box spring, or no box spring at all), but this defeats the purpose of the box spring. That's not a big deal if you have a foam or hybrid mattress. But for a traditional innerspring mattress, like I have, you want the box spring right under it--and this board underneath that! Four stars for comfort and improving my sleep, despite the fact that it's really covered slats and the shipping damage. ... show more

  • Bunkie Boards who knew there wasSuch a thing
Color: Grey Size: Queen Style: Split
I had purchased a metal bed frame with slats, and had purchased a hybrid mattress, when I put it directly on the frame it was supposed to work on the frame without a box spring. But was incredibly uncomfortable felt like I had no support I did a quick search found these bunkie boards and when they came they fit perfectly into the top of the frame in 2 sections for the Queen size…I put the mattress back on top and it was a night and day difference. Instantly fixed all the support problems I highly recommend this product. It creates a solid foundation without raising the height..they are well built. ... show more

  • Very good, know they're two boards for 1 bed
Color: Grey Size: Twin Style: Split
It's great, lightweight, and compact. They save money and are incredibly low profile. The only thing is, because they come in two separate boards for one twin bed to support, the boards can separate in the middle. If you can live with that, then you're fine. There are multiple ways you could try and secure these boards together, but then they could possibly not let the bed lay flat/smooth. If you absolutely need them uniform together as one, I don't recommend (but I couldn't find any other very very low profile twin support that was uniform and low cost). If you can live with that slight separation, then definitely recommend. The twin beds we got were very heavy (which helped hold down the separating boards) and the bed frame slats/bars were few and too far apart to justify any support. We needed a super low board support that would not make the bed height go over the side rail limit. This worked for us, just as regular care we check the boards while making the beds. They hardly ever separate too much with the weight of the bed. ... show more

  • A winning purchase made a huge difference.
Color: Grey Size: Twin Style: Split
I purchased a metal daybed frame and I just bought a mattress on Amazon on top of that I have a piece of memory foam that I purchased. I was worried that I would have to rebuy another mattress because I was in so much pain every morning, and I was waking up multiple times during the night.and I wondered if I could save some money by buying this board to put on top of the metal railings in the frame. I really didn't believe this would work but it was easier then for me to go to home Depot and have them cut something in a similar size from plywood and then I would have to sand it all down. I'm not young anymore and the thought of that was a little bit exhausting. So I decided to purchase this and I I have enjoyed sleeping on my mattresses I don't wake up with half the pain that I had prior. I feel like I can roll over so much easier so for me it was a great purchase! The nice part is that it was not heavy and I actually was able to put it on the frame myself. ... show more

  • Definitely added value to my sleep patterns.
We were able to Church our mattress crisis where our heads were angled downward as a result of only having three slats to hold the bed in place after our original bed frame was destroyed in a move. This was a nice substitute that provides low entry into the bed and helps keep our bodies level while resting. ... show more

  • Exactly what I wanted
Color: Off-grey Size: Queen Style: Split
I needed something for my sofa bed that would help with the springs being felt through the mattress. The first time I slept on the sofa bed, I woke up soar everywhere. It's a brand-new sofa bed, so I was very disappointed to say the least. Someone told me to put a piece of plywood between the mattress and springs. I had no way to store a piece of plywood, so I started looking for something that would do the same. I found this split bunkie board for a queen size bed and it is perfect. I store them behind the sofa and no one even knows they are back there. I would recommend this to my friends and family without hesitation. ... show more

  • Size is wrong
Color: Grey Size: Twin Style: Split
I ordered the Twin size as 2 halves. Twin size is 39 by 75. They say 38 by 74. Actual is 37 5/8 by 37 5/8. So 2 pieces that are 37 5/8 equals a total length of 75 1/4. Somebody really doesn't know how to do simple math. With it being 37 5/8 instead of 38, if the mattress slides a little moving the bunkie board, it will fall down a little, inside of the metal bed frame. I don't have a problem like other people with the sagging, probably because I got the 2 halves instead of 1 piece, but it not being the size as advertised, it's kinda annoying. I might just make myself some slats to go under the bunkie board or get 1/2"plywood. Some people are complaining that it isn't plywood. Nowhere in the description does it say it is made out of plywood. Basically, it is 1 bys in a criss-cross pattern to add height. The top layer isn't to provide support, it's basically to hide the boards. ... show more
