  • Still loving it
Value for money right here. It's in between affordable and best of the best. I don't have any complaints so far and I've had it for like 5-6 months. I'm glad this was my first one I jumped on haha

  • Great Radio - had a 12 channel FM, 2.4 is newer but nice!
I had been a die hard Futaba fan for years and had not been part of the 2.4 bandwagon. Many years go by, my planes are sold or gone and all I have is a couple FM rcvrs and my 12FG. I didn't see myself going to that many channels - perhaps the 10, but I don't see that coming soon. I have a 2.4 xmtr for my FPV drones and wanted one for my airplanes. I bought a BNF plane, had some batteries and made adapters, charged the two, bound and setup - so easy!! I will say that this is on of the nicest transmitters I've seen at this price point - I'm used to a 14 channel, but the gimbals and things are fairly smooth. Nothing like my Futaba, but darn nice! ... show more

  • Excellent radio and feature rich
This is a great and well built radio. It has many features so hard to think that you would outgrow this one unless your got really complex in your models. It is highly programmable which is both a great feature but also can be confusing for beginners. Fortunately, you can dial it in over time to meet your needs as you learn more about the unit. ... show more

  • Top of the line . Worth every penny.
This controller does everything u could need for piloting aircraft models. The updates for it in the future will even do more than u know now. So basically , it gets better every day. If you are serious about the hobby , this is the radio to have !

  • Did I get a lemon?
First of all, the box was open but everything looked good, so.... I stated to charge it, boy is it a slow charger. Once it could stay awake I tried to connect to my network. I think it's important to note that I just retired after 24 years in IT as a network administrator. So I should be able to connect to a network. I couldn't get it to connect and the thing that bothered me was, it would change the SIID (the name of my network). It even changed the password! That is scary and I wondered why it's doing things like that. On top of that, it rebooted itself a few times while I was trying to connect to the network, and it did that with no warning. After a good hour trying to connect, I gave up and sent it back. The good thing about this controller is that the screen can be read by someone with really poor eyesight. That really makes it stand out. It feels good in my hands and the switches felt really good too. The buckle for the neck strap is kind of silly - it's huge and it sits right over the big clear monitor making it impossible to read. I would call tech support, but let's face it, who wants to trust all of their models to a radio that swaps out SIID's on the fly and reboots while in use? One other thing, I unscrewed the gimbles to get a better fit. While doing so, I heard a spring come lose and then the left gimble no longer had the spring to push it back into place. I know some helicopter pilots like the throttle that way, but not me. Plus, what the heck was that spring pooping off sound? I don't trust that. I've used Spektrum for years and have always been disappointed with how long their radio's last and how long their radio batteries last. I just never expected them to last 10 minutes. Other than that, they make great items. I wish they could get their quality control straightened out on brand new radios. ... show more

  • Incredible technology! Six stars!
This transmitter is a huge step up in sophistication from my DX6! I love everything about it. In no particular order, here are my faves: - Spoken modes and switches: Moving a programmed switch is announced in human voice. The rotating knobs (either left or right) can be set to adjust the overall loudness. Terrific for one like me with hearing loss. - Downloadable aircraft configuration files (Search for "Spektrum Preset Model Files for DX Gen2 Transmitters").Wow! Everything is preset, including flap/elevator mix! - WiFi connectivity: Once logged on (do that at Spektrum.com first) updates and registration are available. -USB connectivity: After downloading config files to your computer, copy them to the micro SD card, then use the "import" option to select and import the files, one at a time. Cons: NONE! I have been a Futaba fan up until now. Way to go Spektrum! ... show more

  • Very nice upgrade from DX model
The first transmitter I got when I started flying was the cheaper DX6E version. But if I had known how much better the NX series is, I would have spent the extra money and got one of these instead. I can update it with wifi, recharge the battery, it's much lighter, you can set up voice call outs for switches, it comes with model templates with all the settings and flaps and stuff already set up for you, and much more. It's awesome, I love it, and you will too! ... show more
