This is the cheapest 1/0(-ish) OFC wire I could find. I knew that it was smaller but needed that smaller size for an all in one power/ground distribution block for a stereo project I am working on. Wanted something that was a little thinner on the jacketing, and preferably a little smaller diameter than the oversized car stereo 1/0 I typically use. This is more like a 2 gauge but a little larger. This is smaller than the 55 sized 1/0 welding wire that I bought from Royal Excellene but for this application… it’s fine. Totally fine. I don’t doubt that it’ll still carry 350 amps 12v but it is smaller diameter. Flexibility is not too bad but I’m sure it’s going to get pretty stiff at the ends after crimping lugs on. Can’t say much about that jacket but it cuts easily with a knife. For car stereo applications I’d recommend some techflex for aesthetics and a second layer of protection from sharp edges. Definitely use your grommets. Not bad for the price, but know if you are going to be using this for more than static/stationary installations I’d probably opt for something better. For car stereo installs, this isn’t a bad choice but know that there is some less than positive feedback about this. It’s going to be great for battery cables and solar but welding I’d probably get something a little better. ... show more
